Wal-MART* SuperCenter

I tend to shop at Kroger more than anywhere else, they have more selections than most stores in my opinion. But i also shop at Dollar General, they have some really good deals I like to take advantage of, like 2 liter Pepsi's for $1.15, everyday..

mine would have to be either albertson's or costco.
i love costco the most though. GREAT prices on food, and they have samples!

we have Stop and Shop and ShopRite here...Stop and Shop is a lot nicer then ShopRite so we go there more often, but sometimes we go to ShopRite too.

Wal-mart super center for sure.

Giant Eagle - which is only in Ohio, PA & western NY as far as I know.

This is a good question, Aaron. My favorite grocery store is DeMoulas Market Basket, which is local. You just can't beat the prices. My crystal ball tells me that Rich P's favorite store will be Trader Joe's. ;)

none here in the NYC metro area either.

My favorite store of course is the one my family owns here in Oswego called Bosco and Geers (Bosco is my last name). I also go into the chain stores here in the northeast like Price Chopper and P&C.

We usually go to Wal*Mart Supercenter, but sometimes we'll go to Price Chopper or P&C...those are basically the only choices we have here.

We usually go to Sams Club when we buy things in Bulk but when we don't we go to a store called "HEB".HEB stands for "Here Everything's better".It's not as cheap as Sam's but it's closer.

Harris-Teeter, They have great sales including buy two get three free sales. They did this recently with the 12 pack cans of Pepsi products.

Aldi has great prices and most of their products are just as good as the national brands

Big Lots - They have great deals and their products are usually in date even though they are a close-out store. If a product is getting close to the expiration date, They will mark it down even further.

Wal-Mart super-center doesn't impress me that much

There are so many great food stores where I live but at the top of list are:

* Trader Joes's for drop dead bargains#1!!
*Whole Foods - you can find some good deals there if you look around. They've gotten a lot more price friendly lately
* D'Agostino's for their great salad bar @ a reasonable price
* Westside Markets cause they have great sales and carry a lo-cal version of cream cheese that I love

(Honorable mention to Zabars -still an experience to go and look around but they've gotten price-y)

Nob Hill Foods (Also known as Raley's Superstores) in other parts of California:
Fine store, fresh produce and nice employees

Also, Whole Foods deli counter makes the best made-to-order sandwiches!

There really isn't any great ones. I shop mostly at a local chain because they have the best variety, though they can be pricey. I don't really like Hy-Vee, but find myself there occasionally. I used to like Cub, but they have gotten ridiculously expensive. An angel food cake mix was $2-something...last one I bought at SuperTarget was like 89 cents. ohno:

I like Meijer. They are like a Wal-Mart Supercenter, but with better quality food IMO.

i get pretty much everything at walmart. i sometimes go to bi lo because its 5 minutes away.

I heard on the news today that the price of produce is going to be raised even MORE due to the storms and flooding in Iowa, Illinois, etc. The crops were all destroyed.

Anything that has corn as an ingredient or by-product....all of that will be going UP.....but ya know what.....people will leave things on the shelves, stores will have to reduce prices to move inventory....people then buy. :lol:

I agree, I love Costco and Albertson's. Another one of my favs is Pavillions. they have the best cakes and pies.

I mentioned Whole Foods earlier in the thread. True, it's a great store, but expensive. Around here they have a nickname for it. Instead of Whole Foods, it is sometimes referred to as Whole Paycheck. :lol:

My nickname for it used to be Whole Ripoff BUT I was pleasantly surprised the last time I went. A fat reduced version of Jarlsberg was only $4.99 a lb there and the usual price elsewhere is $6.99+. At first I thought it was a typo, but no a worker there told me the price is low because they buy in bulk. However such a good price tends to be the exception not the rule.

If you buy what's on sale the prices aren't bad but their reg prices on some things can be SKY HIGH. It is worthwhile to look around there cause the quality always rocks and the employees are very nice. Their 365 brands tend to be nicely priced & are of good qual.

Yes, besides having GREAT prices, shopping at T.J.'s is an experience. A wonderful store all the way around.
