Has anyone seen this episode with Danny Bonaduce? He plays kind of a brat on the episode when he gets invited to Tabitha's birthday party. He also looks older than the other children. Any thoughts on it?

His father Joseph Bonaduce worked on Mayberry & was a prolific writer and became even more successful landing regular work on "One Day At A Time" and many others. In Danny's self story TV movie, "Come On Get Happy" it was never mentioned that his father got him his early work, it only portrayed Joseph's intense jealousy of his son when he got "The Partridge Family". Ireneparalegal 06-09-2008, 07:34 PM His father was also physically abusive to Danny. In that pic above, Danny looks like Alfred E. Newman from MAD magazine. Jude The Obscure 06-09-2008, 07:37 PM Sam: "That is not nice to punch Annabell in the stomach!" Danny: "Where should I punch her?" Ireneparalegal 06-09-2008, 07:38 PM Sam: "That is not nice to punch Annabell in the stomach!" I absolutely believe Danny was abused but he does stretch the truth to benefit him and to get a laugh and attention at anyone's and everyone's expense. He was on the air with Adam Corolla but apparently Corolla did not like Danny talking so much, etc. The ratings went up when Danny first appeared with Adam, so I am sure the ratings went down once Danny left and got his own show. catlover79 06-09-2008, 11:36 PM Sam: "That is not nice to punch Annabell in the stomach!" In 2001 I was visiting a friend who lived in Van Nuys at the time, and we went to the Universal Citywalk. Who did I bump into but Danny Bonaduce? I actually got his autograph and took a picture with him. He was very nice and courteous to me, so I have to give him credit for that. :D He had his daughter with him. I remember you mentioning that before. I feel for Danny. Yeah, he is a loud-mouth, he is obnoxious at times, but hey, the guy can at least admit his faults and doesn't try and pretend to be something he is not. Danny has dealt with abuse and substance abuse. He had a beautiful wife and talks nothing but nice things abt her. Charlie Sheen should learn a thing or two from Danny. I would rather spend a day with Danny chatting away then being with those bastards the Hulk family. catlover79 06-09-2008, 11:53 PM I remember you mentioning that before. I feel for Danny. I wish The Other Half had succeeded - I loved that show!!! Ireneparalegal 06-09-2008, 11:55 PM Plus, Danny is smart. It seems you could discuss just about anything with him. I wish The Other Half had succeeded - I loved that show!!! You and I salt sister, you and I. ;) I miss that show. That show was a helluva lot better than the View. It was a great talk show. catlover79 06-09-2008, 11:59 PM You and I salt sister, you and I. ;) I miss that show. That show was a helluva lot better than the View. It was a great talk show. It sure was. It was fun, upbeat, and they covered such a wide range of topics. Everything from men's fashions to finances to cooking, and then some. I was still in college when it began and also working, so I would often watch The Other Half as I ate breakfast and got ready to go out for the day. It seems so long ago now... BTW, do you remember who they got to replace Dr. Jan when he left the show? I can't remember if they replaced him or just left the void. catlover79 06-10-2008, 12:09 AM BTW, do you remember who they got to replace Dr. Jan when he left the show? I can't remember if they replaced him or just left the void. Yes, they replaced Dr. Jan with Dorian Gregory of Charmed. (Dorian was a hottie, by the way. Not quite as hot as Gregory Sierra, but I digress.) Before Dorian came aboard, it was just Danny, Dick and Mario for a few weeks. When it was just the three of them, I remember they started off one episode with a discussion about virginity. It was a discussion that was so deep, so intense (especially some of the comments from the audience) - it felt like you were actually in the audience live as it was happening. I've never forgotten that. Ireneparalegal 06-10-2008, 12:15 AM Yes, they replaced Dr. Jan with Dorian Gregory of Charmed. I've never forgotten that. Oh ok, that's right. Damn, I couldn't remember. ;) One thing that stood out to me was a conversation abt fidelity, cheating, etc. and Danny said words to the effect of, "Don't do anything you wouldn't do if your spouse were with you (next to you)..." Even though Danny was being hypocritical, considering he cheated on Gretchen, I still remember him saying that and getting the feeling he really cared and wanted to teach others what he already knew. I remember the audience cheering and clapping when he said that. It was memorable to me. catlover79 06-10-2008, 12:19 AM At least Danny, Dick, Mario, and Jan/Dorian took turns talking, unlike the gals over at The View, who just yap all over each other. These guys started some very intelligent conversations and weren't afraid to discuss topics like virginity, fidelity, etc. They don't get fair credit for that. :( Why is The View still on and The Other Half got the ax after only 2 seasons??? Susan Dey has also given Danny credit for helping her beat anorexia during their Partridge years. I saw that on an Entertainment Tonight segment. Those ladies interrupt each other, it is hard to keep track of what is being said, they chatter all at once and sometimes one of them has to almost speak in such a loud voice it almost comes off as shouting. OUCH!!! I don't need that mess. They gave me a headache. Oy vey. Now, the men on the Other Half had very decent conversations. They seemed genuine in their feelings and how they expressed themselves. They were interesting and fun at the same time. I wonder if anyone has that show on tape or DVD? catlover79 06-10-2008, 12:25 AM Thank you!! That is what I say abt the View. That is why I can't stand that show. Well, one of the reasons anyway. I don't know, but I'd love to see it again! Ireneparalegal 06-10-2008, 12:27 AM Hey now, Youtube has some episodes of the Other Half... Here is one: http://ca.youtube.com/watch?v=Ko6f1PwpGnY TeeVeeCloset 06-10-2008, 11:17 AM I don't have any episodes of "The other half" but do have the first episode of Danny's short lived self titled talk show which featured a Partridge reunion minus david (I think he sends a taped message) and no susan of course.....I have met Danny several times and worked with him professionally once, he was great.......one time I was going to a book signing to see him and I noticed him wondering around, I approached him and he couldn't find the bookstore, so I proceded to escort him to his own booksigning....great memory! catlover79 06-10-2008, 11:34 AM I don't have any episodes of "The other half" but do have the first episode of Danny's short lived self titled talk show which featured a Partridge reunion minus david (I think he sends a taped message) and no susan of course.....I have met Danny several times and worked with him professionally once, he was great.......one time I was going to a book signing to see him and I noticed him wondering around, I approached him and he couldn't find the bookstore, so I proceded to escort him to his own booksigning....great memory! Awesome story - thanks for sharing it! :D David Cassidy later was a guest host on The Other Half, after Dr. Jan left and Dorian Gregory came aboard. Heidi Dawn 06-13-2008, 02:21 PM Is that Diane Murphy sitting next to Danny, wearing a wig? I know she was in that episode. From what I read, Danny does appreciate his fans. I want to see him and Gretchen work out their differences, they were on Dr. Phil not too long about talking about marital problems. Add me to the list of people who preferred 'The Other Half' over 'The View'. Mario and Dorian were 'eye candy' for me. catlover79 06-13-2008, 04:10 PM Is that Diane Murphy sitting next to Danny, wearing a wig? I know she was in that episode.
