It was no need for those characters anymore since Esther Rolle returned to the show in season 6. Not only did her return make the awesome foursome and mrs. booman vanish, but it also decreased the role of Penny which was a good thing to me.

I loved the Awesome Foursome!! Too bad they were only seen in Season 5. What was the name of the guy always trying to hit on Thelma, and she'd blow him off?? :rofl: Those scenes were golden.
