I noticed something for the first time today. I was watching season six. In the episode where Lowell loses his dirty, orange cap (or Antonio lost it), he never gets it back. The very next episode and for the remainder of Lowell's run on the show, he wears a red cap!

I knew he had a red cap, but I thought it was just for a few episodes, like he'd alternate caps. Now I realize that he wore it for the rest of the season. Too bad Lowell never got his orange cap back from Dr. Greyson, lol.

Also, early on, he had a, what looked like a pink cap, a blue cap and of course his main orange cap.

Kind of reminds me of the old Monkees show where Mike wore a green wool hat. He actually had about four different hats though. Three were green (one had white buttons) and one was blue.

I never really noticed his different caps before. I assumed he always wore that orange one.

Yeah, they made it seem like he would get it back. It ended with the shrink on the plane, wearing Lowell's cap and Lowell sneaking up behind him. Then the very next episode and all the rest with Lowell in them, he wore a red cap.
