Whenever some bullies attack Steve, it's almost always treated like a laughing matter. I specifically remember this one time, when Steve was lifted up by a bully, had his suspendors being hung over some hooks on a wall, so he couldn't get down to the floor, and the audience was laughing their heads off. But on the other hand, if someone as much as touched Laura or Eddy, it was always a serious matter. The audience would always go "oooooooooh" in a terrified way, if something happened to them. How is this fair? Okay, I must admit, I can come up two times, when Steve's bully problems wasn't just a laughing matter, and that was when Teddy had him stuck in his locker, and when the bully, who turned out to have leuchemia, pushed his head down a toilet. And well, maybe those two times were unusually bad even to Steve, who had to be used to bullies like this. But the fact still remains, that most of the bullying against Steve was treated like a laughing matter, while it was a serious matter as soon as someone only touched Laura or Eddy.

Yeah, I guess because Steve was nerdy that the way he fought back was funny? But I agree.

Oh yeah! Okay, maybe most of the bullying towards Steve's can't compare to being attacked by a criminal gang, which happened to both Laura and Eddy during the show's run. But being hung up on hooks on a wall is still NOT a laughing matter!

I remember on Laverne & Shirley, they were put on hooks on a wall by a thug. That was hilarious.

Yeah. When something's really touching the auidience screams "Awwwwww", but when Steve is attacked by bullies they're laughing. It's kind weird, but I guess it's the nerdy way Steve is acting, that makes the audience laughing, not the way the bullies treat him, (I'm not sure though). And of course that he has the great self-confidence even though the bullies are so mean to him.

Yeah, Steve was good at just shrugging things off, so the bullying didn't bother him too much... But still...
