If Charles in Charge does well for them & they're releasing it at a quick pace, why can't they release GAB? Here's the email to the Joe Amodei the president of Arts Alliance: joe@artsallianceamerica.com
They last said they have no plans currently to license GAb but they do listen to their fans. I did get an email back from Joe Amodei recently saying he would speak to Universal. I think the more fans that email the better the chances. PLEASE I need more GAB on DVD!

I got the same e-mail from Joe saying he would try to license the show but wasn't sure if they were willing.

Does anyone know if GAB! was affected by the fires at Universal? I've read various posts and the more recent one said TV shows were affected too. I hope not.

I wonder if VEI already has the series in their possession.

I've heard that the originals, out-takes, and extras were destroyed, but only final print copies of the shows were kept at another location. Let's hope this is not the case, and that they DID make copies of EVERYTHING.

Let's also hope GAB was kept some place else, along with all of the extras.

They had a fire some years ago there.. why would this stuff still be in the same place?

And why wasn't it in some fire-proof vault?

Oh well.. what can you do about it now?

I don't know why Universal wouldn't be willing unless they plan on continuing the series themselves. That would be nice, but I don't feel like waiting 4 years between seasons.

I had heard, and I don't know how true this is, that the original masters of GAB (& Kate & Allie, etc) are held by Alan Lansburg Productions and not Universal, since Universal only has distribution rights in the US.

I hope this is true.

But Alan Lansburg Productions is no more, and the rights to the company's library is now owned by FremantleMedia.

Do you think we should contact them?

It wouldn't hurt to email them and ask.
