View Full Version : Extremely Lost but now Found '77 Ritter Game show pilot
TeeVeeCloset 05-31-2008, 05:06 PM Another great John Ritter Archive find......from 1977 I found the October 30, 1977 pilot of a game show called "GET RICH QUICK". This one has alot of rarities contained inside...first its hosted by a very young "Steve Edwards", who is the host of the Los Angeles 'Good Day Live", which was syndicated a few years ago and failed but continues as a California staple, and yes I did provide a greatful Steve with a copy who did not have it in his own collection....he barely remembered it! The celebrity guests are Debralee Scott (Kotter & Mary Hartman), Robert Urich (Vegas) and of course our beloved John Ritter. Sadly all the celebrity guests are now in TV heaven. I was extremely pleased to find this master quality rarity.....teeveecloset@aol.com

I don't think he ever was, I actually have entertainment tonight episode #1 and the pilot in my archives and I can picture the original host in my head, but can't think of his name right now....if someone can confirm his name, I'll look at episode #1 and confirm as well....
Ireneparalegal 06-02-2008, 07:17 PM funny you asked Paul, for the life of me I was trying to remember that dude's name. Can you please play the tape and tell me who that was. I was just thinking of that info abt two weeks ago and it was bugging me. LOL

hello irene!
I'm not home now, but I believe it's Ron Hendren....I haven't looked at it in years (probably 10), the show was of course so different back then, it premiered in 1981......

The name Ron Hendren brought back some very bad memories. He was only on the show for 3 years and apparently hasn't been heard from since. He's the Klinton Spilsbury of the small screen as far as I'm concerned.

Wow. I didn't know that. Did he leave or did the show get rid of him?

No, I know that Ron Hendren, Marjorie Wallace and Tom Hallick were the original co-hosts. I was thinking Steve was a correspondent on ET at one time or another.

I have no idea, I didn't watch the show that much but there was one episode where he kept talking about this great new song and that it would be the biggest hit of the year (1981) He wasn't wrong, The song was "Physical" and everytime I hear it I think of Ron Hendren.
Jude The Obscure 06-02-2008, 08:19 PM I don't know but his replacement was Robb Weller, now a prolific TV producer, who in turn was replaced by John Tesh :D Ron,after ET, did a syndicated show for the InDay programming block (produced by the same people who did Independent Network News), I think the show was called "All About Us"....in any case, the InDay block lasted less than 6 months before the plug was pulled.
