I was laughing at Arnold's statement about Harlem in ep #2-LOL

"The Best Thing I like about Harlem is that I AIN"T THERE"

DAmm, what the hell was going on in Harlem back then?? There was always a Sitcom joking about how dangerous it was.

BTW: George Jefferson's statement about Harlem

"Harlem is so bad now the GLOBETROTTERS DOn't even go there anymore"

LOL

Why do you always have to be rude to people, especially new posters?! Maybe he lived in Harlem in the 70s, you don't know that! You got some serious growing up to do. If I was D'Gooch, I would curse you out for that nasty comment, and put you on ignore! You deserve it sometimes!

Well since his name wasn't ThomasE he should have said -"I lived in NYC during that time and Harlem was soft during the 70's"

I don't know anything about him so why as as new poster would heshe just say that and give itt no legs to stand on? All i know he can be lying and grew up in boston.

That's still no reason for you to get smart with people. Maybe he knew the answer to the question you asked Thomas E.

I will have to defend Solomon on this one Kool. If you look at DGooch's posts, you will see he posts the word SOFT to almost every single post he has made on S.O.

Exactly, he doesn't give off a serious vibe, seems like he is just here for attention.
Just to make posts without really caring abt the discussion.

Well, I don't go around looking at everyone's post history, so his comment here is new to me. I don't get his impression of using the word soft everywhere he posts, but he's more than welcome to his opinion, whether it's a good one or not.

I understand. I just happened to know the 10 posts he has made, they are memorable because he seems to be either joking around or like Sol said, trying to get some attention by stating "______ is soft" or "that is soft" to almost every thread discussion.

There is this website I was recently banned from where if you don't state a reason for your opinion, you will get an infraction, if you violate this 3 times, you will be gone. So, this guy would have been banned because he didn't give reasons for his answer. LOL

I checked it out Kool. ;)

Solomon, here is part of what they have there:

"The basic rule is that you should give reasons behind each post. You didn't therefore you recieved an infraction. You have nothing to complain about. If you don't have reasons then don't make the post."

"Be warned that if you are abusive towards the staff they have every right to be just as abusive back to you, and you'll also end up either in the prison or banned."

 if you are abusive, expect to be abused back.

Well Solomon, let's just say that Harlem was not Green Acres. In other words, it was not the place to be. LOL. Nowadays, you can see a renasaincse (mispelling)taking place. A lot more caucasians are buying up property there. It is getting more expensive to live there in some areas. You still have some not so great areas, but IMO the community is doing a 360. In fact, there is a 3 year protest going. A lot corporations are buying up companies with a 2 1/2 mile range and it has been told that things are gonna get expensive which could result in locals losing their business/homes. The locals residents are boycotting unill 2010. They are discouraging people from purchasing at store between 110th st to 155th st.

I'm still divided on the issue. If Arnold and Willis were to live there now, it would be a somewhat safer place for them compared to 1978. Heck, Maggie #2 could do her aerobics show live from 125th st. LOL.

The couple of times I to NYC, I didn't even go to Harlem. I wanted to, though.

My boss told me he was in Harlem years ago, and he got robbed in broad daylight over some spare change.

I don't understand why people are so afraid of bad neighborhoods. A lot of the time if you don't mess with people, then you don't get messed with.
