Another change of pace episode--this time Ozzie is supposed to make a speech to a group of Air Force pilots, etc and somehow his desire of flying in of the new jets is made known and lo and behold, the wish is granted. At first Ozzie is fearful and looks for a way to get out of the arrangement. But in the end, goes. He manages to get "drunk" on the oxygen and keeps annoyingly singing "Up We Go into the Wild Blue Yonder" over and over. Lots of real outdoor footage and I wonder how much of the actual flight was filmed with Ozzie really in the plane.

OH Nuts!

Yes, I remember this ep with his getting all giddy on the oxygen. All Adv. of O & H are fun to watch once, but this one was not one of my favs. The eps I really love (Wally's Traffic Ticket, The Fraternity Rents A Room etc.) I have rewatched at least four or five times.

Yea, I don't think this one will be on my priority list to rewatch anytime soon!

Yeah, The Jet Pilot was kind of corny

That too. His genius was behind the scenes with the contracts, the writing, handling the business matters etc.

He sure put in a lot of dream sequences, where Ozzie the character does sing. He isn't a bad singer, but obviously Ricky inherited the better portion of the talents vocal-wise! :)

Yeah, Rick was great all the way around. It was a REAL shame he had such a hard time of it from the 70s on up. (Ozzie, God rest his soul, was an excellent business mgr.)

I also liked Harriet's acting a lot (her singing was OK.) She had an EXQUISITE sense of timing and a very wry wit.

Harriet was TV's best sarcastic wife and she did it in the nicest way too (unlike say the caustic way Roseanne did).

And oh, just for you, Rich......."Goody Goody"

It's not one of my favorite episodes, but Ozzie singing Flying High into the Wild Blue Yonder... is my favorite part of the episode. I think because it was so corny. Ok my actual favorite part is when in the middle of his singing, he says "Charlie!" making the pilot sing along with him. I just laugh everytime I hear the way Oz says Charlie.
