Chapter 1- Goin' Back to LA

It was the day on Tracy Island. 25 year old Scott Tracy was looking forward to seeing the new Jonny Quest movie that was being released that weekend. He and Lady Penelope Creighton-Ward were planning to see that for weeks. What was worse, she wasn't going be there that Saturday night when he and his rock band Sarcasm were going to perform at the Hill Street Coffee House in Hill Valley.

"Scott, you know that Jonny Quest movie was released today and you and Penny were planning to see that movie for weeks."

"I know, Dad," said Scott. "My performance tomorrow night is at the coffee house with my band Sarcasm and I was hoping that you'd be there."

"I don't know what to say, Scott," said Jeff. "But you might go and see it tonight."

Scott hugged his father like he was 16 years old again and saw Brains walking towards him.

"Hey, Brains." said Scott.

"Scott," said Brains. "I'm glad that you're here. Look, I heard about you and Lady Pednelope seeing that Jonny Quest movie but I also studied up of one of your grandpa's b-b-backing groups of the past. I think a little trip to LA would get your mind off of Jennifer."

"Brains," said Scott. "You don't mean..."

"Yes, Scott," said Brains. "The Skylarks."

"The Skylarks," said Scott. "As in LA?"

"Well, duh," said Brains. "You get to see the sights of the c-c-city. The points of interest that influenced their music."

As Lady Penelope arrived, the door to the time machine opened and Brains said "Scott, Lady Penelope, get in."

As Scott and Penny, both of whom were dressed in 1950s outfits, entered the time machine, Brains set the "Destination Location" for Los Angeles, California. "Ready, guys?" he asked.

"Ready." said Scott and Penny together. Just then, Scott noticed something. The "Destination Time" was set as well. It read :

"1958?" exclaimed Scott.

"Yep," said Brains. "July 4th 1958. I've studied up on the Skylarks. This is the date that Benny Tracy hired the Skylarks as his backing group. Sometimes that day, they'll s-s-see Benny perform and then later on, meet him backstage and perform 'Twenty Flight Rock' to him. That performance inspires Benny to have them as his backing group and the rest is history."

"Alright, Brains," said Penny. "My grandmama told me that but..."

"Hang tight, you two," said Brains. "It's show time." The digital speedometer read 88 and the field was flooded by bright lights and sonic booms.

When the time machine stopped, Scott and Penny found themselves in Los Angeles.

"Los Angeles," said Penny. "The the largest city in the state of California and the Western United States as well as second largest in the United States. I can't believe such a singer like your grandfather would emerge from this town. It's incredible."

"I know, Penny," said Scott. "It sounds crazy but it happened."

Scott found it hard to believe that some of the places his grandfather lived in during that time were so late 1950s. Then, both he and Penny stopped off at Harry's cafe where Scott's grandparents met for the fisrt time. Inside, Scott and Penny ordered some refreshment. After Penny ordered a cherry coke with chips, the owner asked Scott when he wanted.

"I'll have what she's having," said Scott. "With a hamburger."

"I'll pay." said Penny.

"Thanks, Penny." said Scott.

After paying up, they both saw Benny Tracy arriving with a another backing group. Penny saw Benny winking at her and winked back.

Chapter 2- My Grandpa, the Rock 'n' Roll Star

Scott saw Benny and said "Oh my God, you're Benny Tracy, right?"

"Yeah, man," said Benny smiling. "I'm doing a gig here."

About 10 minutes later, there was a big audience and Scott looked at the sheet music and started performing. The music he was playing was rockabilly but this one was called "All Shook Up" and he was playing so well that the people attending liked it. Scott proceeded to perform more rockabilly songs like "Skinny Jim" and "Seventeen". After "Seventeen", Penny found Scott and said "Bloody hell, Scott. It looks like you're a great singer."

"Well, duh, I know." said Scott as he saw Benny singing and saw also shocked him. Benny was wearing a gold suit, a black shirt and black ankle boots and saw his grandmother Jennifer Bennett dancing while wearing a pink sweater, dark blue rolled-up jeans, white bobby socks and black saddle shoes

"There's your grandmama," said Marty to the rest of the family. "George." said Lorraine, "Do you remember Calvin Klein?" "Yes I do, Lorraine." said George. "Well, he was there too." said Lorraine, "And John Lennon was mad at him for stealing his act. It was at this festival I attended in Liverpool. And Calvin Klein was there. I still can't forget it. 'Jack of Diamonds', 'Rock Island Line'and Congland Gap'. And he played it so well. But this Lennon guy insisted that Calvin stole his act. Poor man. This John person acted like his career was finished before it got off the ground. It was also the last time I ever saw Calvin Klein." Marty heard enough of this. "Oh my God." he said, "I've killed rock-and-roll." "What Marty?" asked Lorraine. But, Marty was speechless. Feeling dizzy he, fainted.
