Opening 30 years after the program first went on the air, the Bob Bullock Texas State History Museum is organizing a special exhibition called Dallas: Power & Passion on Primetime TV.
It will spotlight the show's enduring legacy by featuring props, artifacts loaned from actors including Larry Hagman and Steve Kanaly, scripts, television clips, and a recreated environment from the program's thirteen seasons.
For those who may not remember, the television series was about a wealthy Texas oil family, the Ewings, featuring larger-than-life characters like J.R., Miss Ellie, and Sue Ellen. It captured the imagination of the U.S. and the world through an unforgettable primetime television saga.
Dallas was one of the most successful drama series ever made, and also one of the longest-running shows in American prime-time television history.
Actor Steve Kanaly who played character Ray Krebbs said he's excited to see the show that the Bob Bullock Texas State History Museum is organizing.
The popular long standing TV drama series Dallas will hit the Bob Bullock Texas State History Museum.
"The show was big and over the top and people loved it," he said. "
Admission to the Museum’s exhibits, including Dallas: Power & Passion on Primetime TV is $7 for adults, $6 for seniors/military/college students (with valid ID), $4 for youth ages 5-18, and free admission for children under 4.
The exhibit will run from May 31 - September 14, 2008.
