There it is, the 3rd celebrity. First, Dick Martin, then Sydney Pollack, now Harvey.

I loved Harvey, as did my dad and a few years ago, as a Father's Day gift, I got him tickets to see Harvey & Tim Conway when they were doing shows together. Of course, they did the skit that they did on the Carol Burnett show where Tim played the dentist and Harvey was the patient. I mean, who didn't love all those skits where Tim had Harvey "losing it"?

Also, a funny part in "History of the World Part 1" was he played Count de Monet, and everybody kept calling him Count de Money!!

:rip: Harvey

WTF!

Two of the funniest men from the golden age of the musical/variety shows are now gone. Two of my absolute favorites, too!

RIP Harvey!

Whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa. You gotta be kidding me! I've been a Carol Burnett fan for YEARS. I was gonna go see Harvey and Tim when they came up to my area in '06 but whaddya know... I get diagnosed with mono about two weeks before they came here, so I ended up not being able to go. :( I thought he was way awesome.

That is a sad, sad day indeed. Can't say I'm surprised, tho... I knew he was in poor health for a long time.

I haven't had the opportunity to see a lot of Carol Burnett's shows but have
seen a few, and I always enjoyed Harvey Korman's scenes with Carol and
(especially) with Tim Conway. He was a brilliant comedian/actor. Always a
delight.

Tim Conway was on the local news here yesterday and was talking abt how gullible Harvey was. He told a story abt being on an airplane and when the airplane stopped to get fuel, Tim told Harvey, "I don't think they put the cap back on the gas tank." Tim went on to say how Harvey had this look on his face and he eventually went to the cabin telling the captain to stop the plane because the cap might not have been put back on. The captain eased Harvey's fears by telling him that planes don't have gas caps. ;) I can imagine how that must have played out since so many countless times Harvey had to restrain himself from laughing on the Carol Burnett Show when he and Tim did scenes together. I think that is what made me laugh the most, seeing how hard it was for Harvey to keep a serious face but wanting to bust out laughing. ;)

I saw this news this morning and I immediately thought about you guys. Do you remember when his son was on this site? Chris Korman. Poor guy. If you're reading this, Chris, I'm really sorry for your loss. Your dad was one of the coolest guys in entertainment. Period.

Blazing Saddles was great, so was History of the World, Part 1... but my personal favorite of his film appearances was always High Anxiety!

Part of the fun of watching The Carol Burnett Show was seeing what characters they'd play on that week's show. Harvey had a recurring one where he played an extremely ample-breasted old lady with an accent and as a kid, seeing a man dressed in over-the-top drag was a hoot. Still is, actually.

And of course, everyone cites examples of Tim Conway breaking up Harvey Korman. My personal favorite is when Harvey plays a rich man whose house is on fire. He passes out from smoke inhalation and to the rescue is the white-haired "Old Man" fireman played by Tim.

As he sits on Harvey's back and looks down, he cracks "My, what color you have in those cheeks." Harvey is red-faced, cracking up at Conway. I think that sums it up best.

Goodbye Harvey - you will be missed.

If I weren't feeling sad about Harvey, I'd laugh at this comment.
