What were the circumstances surrounding the disapearance of Ozzie's beef stew dinner? He was about to enjoy his meal when Harriet and June stormed into his kitchen and took the food before he could eat it.

OH Nuts! 05-29-2008, 11:41 PM I don't think I have this ep Janine the Dream 05-30-2008, 09:00 AM The episode is where June has unexpected company for dinner and has nothing thawed. Janine the Dream 05-30-2008, 09:01 AM Not sure of the title but it is quite funny as Ozzie's dinner is taken away from him. honeybea 05-30-2008, 11:04 AM I vaguely remember about her trying to cook a dinner right after they returned from their honeymoon and nothing went right. Not sure if this is the same episode or not. if so, she wanted to serve champayne and they ended up drinking ginger ale, the frig didn't work or something. Jude The Obscure 05-30-2008, 07:13 PM that episode kinda sounds familiar--I think I have it on my Platinum set. I know I've seen that situation where June has nothing ready to make for dinner. snorlaxnut 05-30-2008, 09:06 PM I vaguely remember about her trying to cook a dinner right after they returned from their honeymoon and nothing went right. That's the episode "The Newlyweds Get Settled". Ozzie & Harriet decorate June & David's apartment, find out they already have stuff for their place, and Ozzie & Harriet quickly get rid of the stuff they put in. June & David find out the fridge was not plugged in and the pot for the roast was too small, so they ended up eating peas and ginger ale. Jude The Obscure 05-31-2008, 10:02 AM thanks for the title! I've seen it, but I'm not sure where I have it. snorlaxnut 06-03-2008, 11:17 PM thanks for the title! I've seen it, but I'm not sure where I have it. If you have the Best Of set from Shout! Factory, "The Newlyweds Get Settled" is in that set. Jude The Obscure 06-04-2008, 08:15 AM Thank you!!!!!! Yep I have that set. I don't know the name of the episode, but I think this sounds like the episode where Dave was to bring home a client for dinner, and through miscommunication ;some of it Ozzie's doing of course, when he ran into June at the grocery store. Confussion ensued when June couldn't be reached about the dinner, then found out about the dinner, Dave in mean time makes other plans for his clients to go out to dinner, then finds out June found out about the dinner and is going all out for it, while June of course finds out Dave is taking the client out to dinner so she never makes dinner, leaving poor June with clients coming and nothing to serve, except Harriet's beef stew which Ozzie has been craving all day. honeybea 06-09-2008, 10:42 AM I don't know the name of the episode, but I think this sounds like the episode where Dave was to bring home a client for dinner, and through miscommunication ;some of it Ozzie's doing of course, when he ran into June at the grocery store. Yes, I remember that show, that has to be the one. Janine the Dream 06-09-2008, 03:37 PM That's the show I'm talking about. Not only doesn't Ozzie get his beef stew, he winds up helping Harriet set up chairs at the woman's club. CJ 06-09-2008, 05:04 PM Y'all had me curious, so I checked and it is: 363: David Takes a Client to Dinner 10/30/1963 David calls June to bring a client home for dinner, but he decides to take the client out to dinner instead, when it seems like a burden on June with such late notice. Harriet is torn between staying home or helping at the women's club thing, after going back and forth, she finally tells Ozzie she won't go to the thing. Harriet runs into June at the store as June is buying a TV dinner for herself since David is entertaining the client out. They talk and Harriet changes her mind again and invites June to go to the women's club thingy with her, and says she will rush home and make Ozzie's Beef Stew. June tells Harriet she needs flowers for the table for Ozzie, so Harriet goes off to buy stuff for Ozzie's stew and June goes off to buy flowers. June then runs into Wally who is buying flowers for Ginger because he promised to take her to dinner, and forgot. Wally gets the impression that June is buying flowers for dinner at home. June and Harriet set up Ozzie's table with flowers, candles, etc and then go to the apartment and June changes for the women's club thing. Wally runs into David at the restaurant, and tells him June is preparing the meal at home. David figures he misunderstood June and phones June and simply says they are running late, but will be there for a home cooked meal. June figures she misunderstood David and she an Harriet check and there is nothing suitable to cook. June & Harriet rush back to the house and steal Ozzie's Beef Stew, flowers, candles, etc , just as he sits down to enjoy it. Cute scene as Harriet does the old pull the tablecloth out from under the plates on the table trick. June & Harriet rush back to the apartment and set the table and June changes clothes again. As David and the client come in the door, Harriet hides behind the door and slips out un-noticed. Next scene is at the women's club thingy and Ozzie is setting up chairs. Rick, who is not even in the episode sings, "For You" & "The Very Thought Of You", at the end. Jude The Obscure 06-09-2008, 07:34 PM Well, looks like we have two different episodes being described  Anyhoo.......sounds like a fun episode! So many of the episodes have similar themes and very close in story. Especially some of them where they actually took Old scripts and re-wrote them. Now you got me thinking which episode it was where Ozzie and June were in the grocery store!! :lol CJ 06-09-2008, 10:15 PM Now that one, I haven't a clue, LOL  BTW, you were very, very close on your description. Janine the Dream 06-10-2008, 09:54 AM Thank you, that is the episode. Quite funny and well done. |
