Gary gets his teeth straightened with braces. This was noticeable in the Bully for Arnold episode. Some of his lines are slurred if you listen closely. Also, it's ironic that the Ramona character is also having ortho work.

Back in the 80's, I used to envy kids that wore braces. I thought that wearing braces was such a cool thing and I wanted them too. LOL.
