I was just watching his story and it occurred to me that he was eligible for parole. RS said that Walker had been up for parole 17 times and that it had been rejected each time. That was in the early nineties when the show aired. Does anyone know if he is still in prison?
I also found it interesting that Walker maintains that he is innocent of the murder that put him in prison.

Well I think it was mentioned that Walker had multiple sentences he had to serve including those for crimes he committed while in prison. I might be able to find this out for you if you give me a few days although no promises.

He appealed again in 2002 for a writ of habeus corpus, and it was denied, in San Francisco. However, California has done away with the online inmate search.

Considering they made a film out of him I am amazed at the lack of information on the web, I bought the book on the case written in 1981 but there is nothing about the other stuff he said in the interview like the poison story online. I think he had another writ dismissed in 2005 so my guess is he is still in jail.

Well, Walker was sentenced to 17 years to life on state charges. So he has been denied parole numerous times obviously. One must also remember that when he was convicted the sentence for first degree murder was 7 years to life until it was increased to 25 years to life in 1978. I'm sure Walker had other charges too that increased his minimum time in prison to 17 years. They said if he is ever paroled in California, he has a 50 year federal prison sentence waiting for him.

"Brucine" from Walker's segments when they are rebroadcast?
It's the poison that he had another person import from Italy in an apparent to kill a deputy district attorney.
Never saw much reason in deleting it. There are far more dangerous chemicals available to resourceful nutjob and it's actually a key item in the movie The Mechanic.

I enjoyed this interview very much it's a shame that there wasn't more of it and that they felt the need to talk over a lot of his answers.
