Sorry I confused some of you. It's NOT 3 # 1 songs, it's 3 # 1 THINGS Ricky had in 1958. So here's the answers:

1. He had a # 1 song, can't remember at the moment which one

Jude is right, the best the show ever did was between 25-30 in the ratings. Part of the reason was that ABC did not have affiliates in a great many locations which hurt their shows.

Well then, I guess The Nelson Family did pretty well, on Radio and Tv for a combined 22 years and never being number 1 or anywhere near it.

Guess there is something to be said for flying under the radar.

Nowadays, they cancel everything at a drop of a hat. One episode and they pull a show.

Or if a show is to popular they try to overplay it and make the audience that loves it come to hate it.

TV just can't let anything be just what it is anymore. They think they need to many bells and whistles. Laid back Ozzie can't just putter around the yard anymore and worry about how to get out of attending a Women's Club rummage sale and go Bowling instead.

Now on sitcoms all the parents act like over grown teenagers that never grew up.

sorry, I'll get off my soap box now lol
