Jennie Garth may want Shannen Doherty to return for the 90210 spinoff, but Lori Loughlin sure doesn’t.

“I don't think Shannen will. No.” the actress tells OK!. “I don't think anyone wants to touch that.”

But the show will embrace Tori Spelling with open arms. Donna Martin’s real-life alter ego has been angling for a role in the CW series since the news was announced. But Tori, who’s due next month with her second child, may need to take a short maternity leave first.

“I think they are waiting for her to have her baby and then they're going to - there's definitely a role for her though in the pilot, like a small little cameo thing which will be fun,” Lori says. “But then I think they'll have her back.”

The 43-year-old has also heard “rumblings” of Luke Perry returning, but claims to not know much else. Having already talked to Jennie about the show, the star now can hardly wait to start production on June 25.

“I'm so excited. I've seen a script. It's good," she says. "I really like it. It's definitely the contemporary 90210. It's touching on what teenagers are going through nowadays, which is a little bit -- I don't want to say faster, but they are definitely exposed to more at this time. Kids today, they have a lot to handle. They grow up so fast.”

I'm ticked off. Who the heck cares about what Lori whatever thinks??? Shannen needs to come back.

Well, Shannen isn't exactly known for being easy to work with so I can't say that I blame her. Also, I'd be shocked if Shannen wanted to come back.

I probably shouldn't give my opinion on this because it might get me banned from SO, which is not worth it. I'm a long time/huge Shannen fan (obviously) and think it would be great to have her back on the show... but reality is, she probably wouldn't be too keen about the idea. It's ok, I can still watch the originals :)

I think it would be nice to see her again, too, but I'd just be shocked if she was up for it.

I think they should just bring back all the original actors & actresses & show them living their lives in the current day, but I guess they're all considered way over the hill to have a hit show again.

if they find the new 90210 not clicking with the Nielsens, they may just pull the old hat trick of "hey, Shannen, baby, have we got a deal for you!"

What they need to do is combine Melrose Place and 90210 with all the original characters and have them live their current lives! Hahah just a crazy idea.

i don't blame her. i heard she was a (rhymes with) witch! i wouldn't want to work with her either. i'll be watching, tho. regardless. because she is a good actress. the first time i saw her was in a show with Brooke Burke. i forgot the name. littlebelle, can you help me out?

Was she a main character or a re-occurring role? The only TV series that she's been is Little House on the Prairie: New Beginnings, Our House, 90210 and Charmed (and a couple short lived reality shows). I know she was in 21 Jump Street a couple times. I should know this, lol.

Also about her being a "B", obviously I'm going to stick up for her because I'm a fan but it takes two people to argue... and if Shannen's going to get called a "B" then so should the other people that argued with her. I try not to promote the "B" stereotype for Shando.

Awful ratings would make her change her mind. I am a Shannon fan. I think both 90210 and Charmed JTS when she left or shortly thereafer. I know she's probably hard to work with and I don't really blame Lori for not wanting to get involved with all that but I think it would be great if Shannon came back. It's the only thing that would probably get me to watch it.

I guess I can't really make any judgments considering I've never personally worked with her (would be my dream though!) but to me, she's talented and seems to have a good heart.

Why is Lori Laughlin even mentioning this? She was not part of the original BH, so why should she give a response like that? I realize she is trying to walk on eggshells, but if I were her I would have not even responded to OK! if they asked me that. She would have been better off saying something like, "I am sure many would love to see Shannon be on the show, including her fans." And leave it at that.

I wonder how many times a day Tori calls the producers of this spinoff.

Do you think they pretend to be in a meeting or something?

Yea by commenting on it , she did step right into it. All she did was alienate Shannen's fans.

yep. i imdb'd her and she was on a show with Brooke Burke called "North Shore." it didn't last long tho. just 1 season, while Shan's episodes were the last *i believe last* 11) and you'll be happy to know she has some new projects coming out: "Kiss me deadly" and "The lost treasure of Grand Canyon" (according to www.imdb.com)

Oh that's right! I totally forgot about Northshore... I've actually never seen it. I'm very excited for her new projects. She's also working on something called "No Apologies" which I'm REALLY excited for.
