Hi you guys! I am relatively new to the show and I have read and heard that there were many problems behind the set of Diff'rent Strokes involving all the cast members and crew! What were they? Did it involve Conrad Bain, Gary Coleman, Todd Bridges, and Dana Plato all having differences between themselves or did it involve the crew getting it into with the cast members? Thanks!

It was a variety that stemmed from personal issues and motives. I think the star with the least drama was Conrad Bain. Some other pushed the envelope a little too hard.

Could DS be the king of most drama on a hit show? I mean, I can't think of any other show that had as much drama as this one. ALICE comes to mind, but still.

Ahh the problems during and especially after the series are all too numerous to list here but they have been well documented in the following specials and movies.
All of which I have and recently watched.....I'll list the in order of most entertaining and informative.
2006 NBC 2 HOUR MOVIE: This one is really amazing, though the actors look nothing like their characters, except for conrad bain....this one is really underrated and was only broadcast once....Gary & Todd actually tell their own real story on camera, while cutting to the movie throughout.....and at the end they together make a visit to Dana's grave....yes I'm not kidding!
2 hour E! True Hollywood Story....interviews with everyone, even Dana and Mrs. Garrett!
1 hour E! True Hollywood Story/ Dana Plato edition.....great stuff of the rise and fall of the tragic star.
1 hour Entertainment Tonight Special....this one is a bit fast paced like the format in ET but thorugh their archival footage, they tell about all the tragic events.
1 hour FOX Mini-Movie.....this one is pretty bad but it predates the NBC one, no cast member involvement.
