I thought we could talk about the first five years of the legendary television show. With the DVDs of seasons 1-3 available I've really become a fan of the show.

I grew up thinking of Dan Aykroyd from Ghostbusters and My Girl. But watching the old SNL's, I see what a talented guy he really is. Because in SNL he really got to be funny playing all different kinds of characters.

As a kid, when I did watch this SNL cast, it was on Nick at Nite (and I think MTV or VH-1) in those half-hour versions "The Best of Saturday Night Live." All I remember from those episodes is that Chevy Chase got replaced by Peter Venkman (okay, Bill Murray), the Coneheads, Steve Martin and Dan Aykroyd as the Wild and Crazy Guys, Gilda's Rosanne-Rosanadana, the Cheeseburger-Pepsi restaurant and Bill and Gilda as the nerds, lol.

This is the first time I'm able to watch the full length episodes and it's great.

and also your right about aykroyd hes ok in movies but his real genius is in sketch comedy he and john belushi are still the 2 best preformers to come out of studio 8 h there are quite a few good people among the current cast and alot of great people have been there over the years but no one has ever come close to belushi and aykroyd ihmo

It's funny how Paul Simon pretty much had the whole episode to himself. They didn't have their formula down yet. Despite that, I still like the episode. I also enjoyed George Carlin's stand up act in the very first episode of SNL.
