BarneyFife 05-22-2008, 12:07 AM America got It right this time. David Cook was by far the best singer on AI this year. Congratulations David Cook!!!!!!! You are a SUPER STAR!!!
Zoneboy 05-22-2008, 12:09 AM I heard he won by 12 million votes.
BarneyFife 05-22-2008, 12:11 AM Thats right! He crushed the boy.

JoPol_wannabe 05-22-2008, 12:57 AM I'm so happy Cook won  Even though I like Arch I really think Cook deserved to win. I just really liked everything about Cook he is a great singer and a stand up guy. I am sad this season is over this was my favorite season so far.
Cactus Jack 05-22-2008, 01:18 AM shouldve been Daughtry. :snob:
 But in a sense he did win cause he's done better than both the final 2 that year LOL
Scoobiedoo30 05-22-2008, 01:29 AM congrat's David
PrettyinPink55 05-22-2008, 02:21 AM I am SOOOOOOOOOOOOOO happy it was David Cook who won!!!! I absolutely love both Davids, but Cook truly deserved to win!!! He was by far the most original, and in my opinion the most talented!! I voted like 200 times last night for Cook!! LOL!!! <3
Brent88 05-22-2008, 02:45 AM I don't think I've ever been as ecstatic about an Idol winner as I was tonight... it was AWESOME. :D
I first really noticed him during the top 24 group song when he had a solo and he's been a standout ever since, some weeks more than others, but ever since the top 10 or so he's been at or near the top of my list.

Me neither!!!!! I screamed so loud when he won!!!!! :D :D :D
He was always one of my favorites...Archuleta too, but David Cook really stood out. When he did "Hello" and then "Billie Jean," he won me over with every performance after that!!!!!!
80sTrivia 05-22-2008, 05:19 AM I am thrilled David Cook won, too! He already has the poise, confidence, stage presence and talent to start recording music and to go out on tour now! An incredibly gifted entertainer, I was touched by his emotional reaction in realizing he had won by an incredible twelve million votes! I am looking forward to hearing his voice on the radio in the future! This is by far the best finale in the show's history! David Archuleta is also wonderfully talented and I am confident he will have a successful career as well. I really loved the Guitar Hero commercials featuring both of the David's doing the Tom Cruise/Risky Business shimmy to Bob Segar's "Old Time Rock and Roll"! Hilarious! Congratulations, Mr. Cook... you are truly worthy of the title American Idol!
BarneyFife 05-22-2008, 11:14 AM I was leaning toward David cook the whole show, but after he did the Michael Jackson song, which If released right now, could crack the Top 10, I knew the only way he could lose was If America was stupid and voted for the "boy" because he was young and cute. If that boy had won, I would of never watched AI again! In reality It should of been David Cook vs Micheal John's.
DAVID COOK'S THE WINNER!!!!!!party: :jig:
JulieSomoski 05-22-2008, 04:23 PM So glad he won - I was routing for him ever sincle Syesha was voted off last week ;) he definitely deserved to win over Archuletta, though. I think Cook will be 10 times more successfull than Archuletta - this could be a rebound for the American Idol winners.
The finale got 30.6 million viewers, which is a little more than last year's finale I believe (I think it got around a million more than last year). That just proves that AI is not going anywhere!

a rebound? why do they need a rebound? Carrie, Kelly, and Jordin have all done well.
and it's spelled Archuleta. not to be mean but the double ts annoy me -___-

I guess I worded it wrong - my main point was that I think David Cook can make a much better American Idol than David ArchuleTa would. He's a great singer and all, but I think more people would by Cook's music than his, because, IMO, it seems to be more contemporary.

yeah i get what you're saying, but i dont nessacarily agree. Archuleta is very contemporary, he just didn't show much of it off on the show. his "Apologize" last night proved he was mainstream. i think both are going to end up doing well.

They both sure are, and yeah I wonder why he didnt show off how he was contemporary? Oh yeah, thats right, cause the producers thought he should do more ballads..., but yeah they should both do well, and Arch's performance of that song was awesome and he shoulda done it on the show, maybe if they did that Top 100 on ITunes week he wouldve. He sounded better than Ryan Tedder on it, and thats good it proved he can be more mainstream, I was worried for a while thatd he'd be stuck doing slow type ballads that appeal to women over 40 that like Josh Groban
