The performance show was amazing. Davey SWEPT D-Cook, outdoing him on all 3 performances, and it was truly a proud moment for me. :mrtarver: I'm listening back to them now.. Regardless, though, it looks like D-Cook will win this one. He's leading on DI (So I hear, but sadly it won't work for me. LOL), so he'll probably get the title.. but tonight, we saw who the true winner is, and it cannot be denied. :heart: I'll be happy for David Cook, because I think he really is a stand-up guy, and Davey just did amazing and is so deserving. It's a win/win after tonight. SO YAY, LET'S HAVE A FINALE EVERYONE. :grady: Let's hope it isn't a suckfest like last season..

lol no ill be pissed too. even moreso then when Daughtry was eliminated. at least he sucked the night before he was eliminated. i will be raging. and i agree - Archie's winning moment will be so much more "magical".

He always looks offended when he gets bad criticism and it seems like he pretty much expects to be praised. Archie is so much more sincere... when he gets criticized, he takes it into consideration. When he gets praised, he is sincerely thankful.

And another thing... ARCHULETA CAN SING MILES AND MILES AND MOUNTAINS OVER COOK!!!!!! Isn't that what this is about? Finding the best SINGER. SINGER SINGER SINGER and that my friends is David Archuleta.

HOW THE HELL did Cook win by 12 million votes?! That's kind of an overwhelming amount of votes. I don't think even Kelly Clarkson won by 12 million votes, and I mean look at who she was against :lol:. Had Kelly and Justin been in the finale THIS season, they probably wouldn't even show the percentages they had because it would have been like, a landslide vote towards Kelly.

One more thing. I have a theory and this may or may not make sense... probably not because I am furious right now. Cook is an adult already. Had he been runner up and no record company signed him yet, I'm sure he has ways to put himself out there... he could figure it out... hes an adult and lives on his own. Archie on the other hand... if he doesn't get signed, being runner up, he will most likely fade into nowheresville. He's just a friggin kid. Winning American Idol would have given him that extra PUSH to get into the business.

I hope Archie's dad doesn't yell at him tonight. :( The poor kid came so close... I'd hate for his overbearing father to get in the way. I would hope his dad congratulates him on making it this far instead.

12 million sounds like a landslide.. but they got 100 million votes. LOL That has never happened before. Besides, Davey's gonna get a record deal, no doubt, and that's all that matters in the end. Chris Daughtry didn't even make the finale and he outsold everyone else that year, so I'm not concerned that Davey got 2nd place. It's like Clay/Ruben all over again. It just leaves people pondering.. how in the HELL did that happen? But in the end, it's all good, because whether or not they admitted it, everyone knew Clay was the real winner and Ruben taking the title was a fluke. :lol: Sometimes the voting public just gets it wrong, simple as that. When you give people the chance to vote hundreds/thousands of times, they won't always get it right, because it's essentially a popularity contest. That's why people can not win and still murder the person who took the title in record sales. Because the true size of a fanbase isn't shown when people can vote as many times as they want for anyone they want, regardless of whether or not they're deserving. Still, I do believe there was some weird/fishy crap going on behind the scenes, but really, what can you do? I don't think it's anything new to Idol, if I'm being honest. I'm not gonna be mad at D-Cook because of that, I think he's a nice guy and he deserves to have that moment. Davey really looks up to D-Cook and D-Cook obviously thinks highly of Davey, so I think their fanbases should be humble and take this gratiously. I mean, David Cook himself said he accepted he was gonna get 2nd place. I don't think he expected to win after the performances he gave. He knew who really won the night on Tuesday. I think he may be a bit arrogant, yes, but he's not so arrogant he can't admit that someone he loves as a friend outdid him, and I respect that because he coulda just shrugged it off after he got the title and acted like he really did the best, but he didn't. He was real about it, and you know what, in the end, that might say more than any amount of votes ever could.

honestly this season has made me question whether i want to continue even watching Idol. not just because im bitter, but the truth is you put so much time and effort into supporting someone and theres a very small chance it'll go your way.

Why did Simon have to apologize to Cook last night? He wasn't even rude to him. I thought Simon's criticism was constructive and actually VERY true. I mean he's called Jason Castro "horrible" and told people to pack their bags before... some other words he has used... atrocious, hideous, grotesque (DANNY NORIEGA!) and did he apologize for that? No.

But he apologizes for:
- Saying Cook picked the wrong song
- You looked very tense/very emotional.. I thought it was phenomenal
- It was a bit of a lightweight. You made the most of what you had. This is supposed to be a winning song, but it didn't feel like a winning moment for me. At least we have a third song. 6.5/10

not really. 12 million votes out of 100 million isnt that big.

I couldn't be happier that David Cook one - he was by far the best one to be the American Idol. I knew he was gonna win all along, though. You could just tell something unexpected was gonna happen. Plus, Cook did blow Archuletta away in DialIdol - it wasn't even close at all. If it was close, then it could go either way, but it didn't.

I actually thought both David's were on par Tuesday night. I really didn't think 1 did much better than the other. I loved how Simon apologized, though. I'm sure he did it at the last minute probably because he had a feeling David Cook was going to win, and he didn't want to make himself look bad.

I knew from the beginning that it would be a David/David finale. No surprise there. I also thought from the beginning that Archuleta was gonna take the title, but I was wrong! I would have been happy either way, because I truly think that both Davids had a lot of talent and deserved a spot in the final. The best finale I've ever seen. They both sang their hearts out and they sang like they deserved to be there, which was nice to see compared to some of the other finales this show has had. So congrats to David Cook! I was very happy for him.
