Since (as one example) Mama's Family was "saved" by going into first run syndication, could this also happen with BTY? Of course, it's over 20 years later now...a lot may have changed. I never hear of this happening now.

Believe me, I thought of that. First run syndication was a big deal in the 80's and early 90's. Stuff like that just doesn't seem to happen anymore sadly.

Yeah, that's almost impossible. All we see in first run syndication now is bad gameshows, talkshows, and court shows.

Plus, this show is too expensive to be in syndication.

It's too bad first-run syndication is largely a thing of the past. Besides Mama's Family, other former network shows saw longer lives - It's a Living comes to mind.

Also two of the longest running shows in first-run syndication were one-season network castoffs: CBS's Hee Haw and NBC's Baywatch.
