View Full Version : What Show Would You Want a Reunion For?
Adamantium 05-19-2008, 04:35 PM Here's the question. Oprah having a reunion of "The Mary Tyler Moore Show" cast got me thinking. If Oprah (or Ellen or someone) had you choose any show to have a reunion on their show and you would get to be there and meet the people, what show's cast would you want for a reunion?
I'd choose "NewsRadio" with Dave Foley, Maura Tierney, Stephen Root, Andy Dick, Vicki Lewis, Khandi Alexander, Joe Rogan and yes, even Jon Lovitz.
Obviously, only the surviving cast members could attend. ;)
Mikado 05-19-2008, 05:54 PM Well, now that Brent Butt has announced that season 6 will be the last, for Corner Gas, I hope they have a "reunion" that lasts 4 or 5 more seasons! ;)
catlover79 05-19-2008, 05:59 PM Barney Miller - at least a retrospective.

LeeBlue 05-19-2008, 11:02 PM WKRP in Cincinnati
PlayOn 05-19-2008, 11:43 PM A 'Mama's Family' reuninon would be good. it could have all the cast (including Buzz and Sonia) and maybe even people who dropped in here and there (like The Bone Crushers, the Rev. and his wife, ect.)
word is was a spin-off of 'MF' was thought up. don't know what happened to that.

comedyfreak 05-20-2008, 05:46 AM I'd like a reunion with the surviving cast of Lost In Space. I'd love to hear their stories and be able to ask them questions. Years ago on The Arsenio Hall Show he would have special reunions with classic shows. One I remember was with The cast of Good Times. I would love to host my own talk show that featured nothing but classic shows.
Tubehead 05-20-2008, 03:34 PM family ties already had a reuion. i would like to see fresh prince reuion.
All In The Family, I know several of the main cast have passed away but I'd still enjoy seeing a reunion.
angel676 05-21-2008, 07:40 PM I have it narrowed down to four shows, but two of them haven't been off the air long enough to have a reunion.
1. Roseanne
2. Melrose Place
3. Charmed
4. Reba

70s show watcher 05-22-2008, 06:17 PM let me add gilmore girls to my list
Heather987 05-23-2008, 12:14 AM I would love to see these reunions either as a sit down and talk or "new episode/movie" reunion
Different Strokes - unlikely though
Family Ties - I dont count the one with Matt Laur, I want one dedicated strictly to Family Ties
Knots Landing
Melrose Place
Married With Children - Loved Al and Peggy together
Alice - Just a sit down and talk though without Mel it would be boring as a show
I would like to have seen Threes Company with all the roommates
Facts of Life - Season 1 cast included
Scoobiedoo30 05-23-2008, 01:02 AM I have to go with Benson
littlebelle 05-23-2008, 01:05 AM Sabrina the Teenage Witch
PunkyP0WER 05-23-2008, 01:13 AM I'd love to see a Punky Brewster reunion and also The Commish. Maybe even do a Commish tv movie once in a while like they did with Cagney & Lacey, Murder She Wrote etc. The Commish had such a great cast, its too bad ABC started shuffling its timeslot all over the place. Also, Night Court would be cool.

Adamantium 05-23-2008, 04:01 PM After watching some old SNLs, I'd like to see an original cast members reunion. With Lorne Michaels, Chevy Chase, Dan Aykroyd, Jane Curtain, Garrett Morris, Bill Murray, Laraine Newman and maybe even some of the major hosts, such as Steve Martin, Candice Bergen and Buck Henry. I'm talking a sit down chat type reunion, but it would be cool to see the gang perform a new sketch together. Though reading this list, the loss of Belushi and Radner is felt.

I saw the 25th Anniversary when it first aired. Although, I'd really like to check it out again, now that I'm more of a fan of the show. And my sister read the SNL book and has told me some of the backstage stuff from the book. She got it from the Library, but I'd like to own it.

Me too (big surprise there... )
And next year would be the perfect time for it. The 30-year anniversary (wow!) and all the key cast members still living (but getting very up in age). Can't afford to wait too long!
littlebelle 05-27-2008, 06:03 PM My brother was wondering if they did a Golden Girls reunion yet... ? I would assume so.
angel676 05-27-2008, 07:59 PM ^^
There was a GG reunion, if you want to call it that! "The Golden Girls: Their Greatest Moments" was aired June of '03.
factsoflife 05-27-2008, 11:40 PM I'd love to see a reunion for "A Different World" as well as a scripted reunion for "Designing women" and lastly i'd love to see a reunion episode for "The Facts Of Life", but with Jo.
Family Fan 05-28-2008, 12:05 AM I'd like a reunion with the surviving cast of Lost In Space. I'd love to hear their stories and be able to ask them questions. Years ago on The Arsenio Hall Show he would have special reunions with classic shows. One I remember was with The cast of Good Times. I would love to host my own talk show that featured nothing but classic shows.
I attended several Lost In Space Reunions years ago, 80's and 90's, all were there except for Guy Williams who had passed away in 1989. They even had the The Robot, original uniforms. I worked at two shows, and struck up a correspondance with Jonathan Harris(Dr. Smith), who passed away in Nov, 2002. At the time,80's, there had been a surge for a Reunion movie. Eventually a comic graphic novel written by original cast member Bill Mumy(Will Robinson) based on a Reunion was released, a couple of years ago. Sadly, valueable time and money was wasted on an awful movie, in 1998,which was recast/reimagined:rolleyes: , it did sport cameos by originals Mark Goddard(Major West), June Lockhart(Maureen Robinson), Marta Kristen(Judy Robinson), Angela Cartwright(Penny Robinson), both Mumy and Harris refused to take part, as Jonathan correctly stated, 'There is only one Dr. Smith, and I am he.' :) In the end, I am not so enamored at 'reunions' to sit around and chat, but, reunion movies, where we see what happened to the characters they made famous. Sadly, one of the reasons, these don't happen often is the obsession with youth in movies and TV. Truth is the public yearns to see their old 'freinds',but, it rarely happens. :(
littlebelle 05-28-2008, 12:29 AM i'd love to see a reunion episode for "The Facts Of Life", but with Jo.
Forreal!!!
ComedyGuy 05-29-2008, 12:52 PM There was a GG reunion, if you want to call it that! "The Golden Girls: Their Greatest Moments" was aired June of '03.
I saw that and Estelle Getty wasn't there in person but thru a satellite hook up and I enjoyed that "reunion" show too
If they did a reunion movie it might be hard to come up with a plot for it I think

If there was a GG reunion movie/series, they'd have to do it without Estelle Getty, who I understand is ill with dementia. :(
Nighthawk76 05-29-2008, 08:05 PM I would love to see a Star Trek-DS9 reunion. I love the novels published by Pocket Books that begin where the series left off, but I still hope to see an actual DS9 movie.

Yes, Estelle i believe has Alzhiermers disease and a very severe form of it at that which is why she wasn't in attenedance during the 2003 Lifetime Reunion.

Estelle was not part of the 2003 retrospective. She is too ill with her disease (Lewy-Body Syndrome), and is unable to appear in public anymore. She was shown in clips and past interviews, but nothing taped specifically for the retrospective.
