Poor Dave. He's "only" 17 and wants to impress the "sophisticated new girl in town." Oz thinks varsity life is the way to go but Harriet decides to bare the naked truth with a little help from Kodak. Poor Dave turns red and wants to play dead, but all works out well on Sycamore Ave. In the end, Dave gets to be a party boy and older man to a chicstress from Chicago way. Many happy returns Dave.

heeheehee! Ricky at seeing a bare butt Dave :"Why David, I'm shocked!"
And Thorny and his "wolf whistle" horn :)

When David uses the word "ostentacious" (yea, I prolly spelt it wrong), Ricky responds to him --dig that crazy vocalbulary

Ricky gives a check--for 50 cents!

And the ending--those crazy hats on Ricky and Ozzie. :brent

Yeah Ozzie can be such a kid with a "toy" & that 50 cent check is abt $5 still not a whole lot but from a 12 yr old kinda nice. Again wise Harriet saves the day (she was a much better actor than ol Oz - always thought she had an exquisite sense of timing and a wry wit)

David's 17th Birthday is one of my favorite episodes simply because I love watching the Nelson's home movies.

There's a few other shows where we get to see some family photos, Like Ozzie and Harriet's wedding picture, a few of Ricky and David as babies, and an early family picture.

I'd love to go through their family album.

One wonders if any of those home movies were preserved in another format later on by David, etc

Didn't the Shout set with the circus episode show a clip from the home movies? I've seen a few clips of home movies, maybe from the bio that was shown a few years ago.

Well, I'm referring to the home movies in and of themselves :) I know clips of them are preseved via the episodes that used them.
