I just watched "The Lars Affair" and "The Dinner Party" from season 4. I just LOVE both those episodes. :D

I watched "The Courtship of Mary's Father's Daughter", "The Georgette Story," and "What Do You Do When the Boss Says 'I Love You'?" all from Season 3 yesterday.

Last night I watched "Rhoda the Beautiful" and "My Brother's Keeper." Since the Oprah reunion this week, I've really been revisiting the show a lot. You can prob. also tell how desperate I am for Season 5 by my sig, hehe.

Hi there Sports Fans, Season 4
Classic scene when Ted, hoping to be considered for the sports job, comes in wearing giant-heeled boots (Murray points out that Ted has termed them "conquistador boots").
Lou saunters over and eventually figures out what Ted's up to, but at that point Ted starts weaving forward and backward, and just as he's about to keel over, Lou puts a giant paw on him to stop him (all the while the famous laugh from one of the writers or producers...who is that guy?...can be heard in the background, adding to the hilarity).
Lou finally says, "Ted, I need you well-balanced tonight on the news...and I don't mean just physically"...Man, that's great writing.

"Chuckles Bites the Dust" on WGN last night. :D Such a classic episode!

Season 1, Episode 1: Love Is All Around

On the rebound from a busted relationship, Mary Richards relocates to Minneapolis, where she quickly finds a new apartment, an associate producer's job at WJM-TV, and new friends.

The Dinner Party, Season 4, one of my favorite MTM episodes of all time.

Of course I remembered Lou scooping three of the six helpings of veal Prince Orloff, and how stunned Mary looked. Then Lou delivers the great "Say, you know what, I'm not as hungry as I thought!" line, and tries to pat the servings perfectly back onto the tray.

The part I'd kinda forgotten was when Ted was still trying to get Mary to invite him (after telling the story of not being invited to a high school party and then throwing a stinkbomb into that party).
He says something like, "Fine Mary. I've been to plenty of parties...I've even hosted some parties...[getting more agitated]...In fact Mary, the guy you've been waiting to marry might have been at one of my parties...The guy you've been waiting your whole life to sweep you off your feet might have been at one of my parties, Mary" and then he storms off.
Murray walks by and says, "Oh, you had to tell Ted he still couldn't come to the party. How did he take it?" Mary says, "All in all, pretty well!"

Oh, and Henry Winkler was in this episode!

"Lou's Second Date" "An Affair to Forget" and "Once I Had A Secret Love" were all episodes that I watched today.
I LOVE the last two that I mentioned. They have to be 2 of my favorites!!

I Gave At the Office, Season 4

Murray's daughter gets hired at WJM to do menial tasks
There's a great scene in Lou's office when Lou is feeling like he can't be himself because Murray's daughter is there, and he's trying to get Mary to fire her. "I can't use curse words with her here, Mary...That cuts my vocabulary in half!"

Also, Mary and Lou get sarcastic with each other, which is a riot

But the scene I loved the most was when Murray's daughter forgets to bring in the commercial, so Ted has to "ad-lib" the Tidybowl spot. After doing a hilariously embarrassing recreation of the commercial on his own, Ted then goes back into his serious newsman voice and says, "Now, back to the news"
Too funny!

Ted really hits his stride from Season 4 on...oh, did I mention how steamed I am that 20th Century Fox hasn't put out Seasons 5-7 yet????

I watched "Assistant Wanted,Female",Phyllis at her most selfish and manipulative but in a very funny way.
Love how Mary is send so crazy by Phyllis she forgets Murray's name!

"Mary Richards Falls In Love"

Two classic Ted bits in this one:
1) When he's first introduced to the new boyfriend of Mary, Ted, just off his wedding, says, "Hi Joe, this is Georgette, my first wife."
2) Later, as Ted and Georgette are leaving Mary's apartment, Joe and Mary have a long kiss at the doorway. So Ted, not wanting to be outdone, grabs Georgette and gives her a theatrical long kiss.

The Last Show. Dubbed it to DVD. Got it in a trade a while back, with the original closing titles, rather than the standard ones always shown in syndication.

Good stuff!

Sue Ann's Sister (written by David Lloyd)

Ted to Lila (Sue Ann's sister): "So, Sue Ann tells me you're from Dixie"
Lila: "That's right"
Ted: "My wife and I use your cups a lot"

Also, this is the episode that shows Sue Ann in her bedroom, with the mood lighting, vibrating bed, romance music, and overhead mirror

Then there's the classic scene at the end, when everybody else has left, when Mary tries the bed -- music, movement, and all -- and then fixes herself up in the mirror. Just another example of the comic genius of Mary Tyler Moore, she played that scene to the hilt!

It reminded me of some of her comedy from TDVDS. Even though she let other stars shine on TMTMS, when the spotlight was on her she was brilliant!
