Brieannas21 05-22-2008, 11:55 PM Ok I got it. Haunted_Armoire 05-26-2008, 04:44 PM The English tutor (who stands in his garden and smells. tee hee hee), hilariously played by Hans Conreid. Nope. OK, next quote: "I got wind of it!" InspectorExstead 05-26-2008, 11:21 PM That would be Fred. "They say when they stop looking, that's the time to worry." Ireneparalegal 05-26-2008, 11:22 PM William Holden "You're so full of...well, so full." Haunted_Armoire 05-27-2008, 06:40 PM Lucy to Carlotta Romero. "Pardon me madam but your SLIP is showing!" tdr 05-27-2008, 08:09 PM The agent/manager (whatever) at the desk at Idlewild Airport when Lucy went to rent the helicopter. "How about you, little lady-- what you a-aimin' to do?" drewfussclass101 05-27-2008, 10:19 PM Well, Im amin to do anything you aim at me LOL i love that line. It was freds texas friend who is heping him put together a western show for his lodge brothers. i think his name was rattle snake jones "Three's a crowd, fours a bore" Haunted_Armoire 05-28-2008, 10:54 PM Was it Lucy? I can't really recall this line. drewfussclass101 05-29-2008, 01:28 PM actually it was ethel, and after i posted it i couldn't for the life of me remeber what eps. it was from lol your turn d Ireneparalegal 05-29-2008, 03:49 PM Ok I will post a quote: "Is the baby going to cry all night again?" drewfussclass101 05-29-2008, 06:44 PM Fred, i think in the eps. where lucy and ricky move into the mertz apartment when they think they are going out of town and lease out their own apartment ok here is a long one, i i watched this eps. last night and i was ROLLING. I am looking for the person who says what is NOT in ( ) "I hear music in the far off distance" ( Me too, Me too, ) "Good at least we are all going to the same place" d tdr 05-29-2008, 07:10 PM Fred. However, "Is the baby going to cry all night again?" was Ethel, though you did have the right ep. "Mother told me to expect days like this." drewfussclass101 05-29-2008, 07:55 PM ok here is a long one, i i watched this eps. last night and i was ROLLING. I am looking for the person who says what is NOT in ( ) "I hear music in the far off distance" ( Me too, Me too, ) "Good at least we are all going to the same place" d ACTUALLY it was lucy in the swiss alps episode when they get stuck in the cabin and the swiss band players come to rescue them. and i couldn't remember for the life of me if it was fred or ethel with that last one lol Ireneparalegal 05-29-2008, 08:05 PM In the Swiss Alps episode, Fred doesn't hear the music, which then Ethel makes the remark, "That figures." Implying that he is not going to the same place as everyone else.  Ireneparalegal 05-30-2008, 03:37 PM Fred. However, "Is the baby going to cry all night again?" was Ethel, though you did have the right ep. "Mother told me to expect days like this." Ethel? I can't recall. tdr 05-30-2008, 04:09 PM "Mother told me to expect days like this." Ethel? I can't recall. No. Hint: it was said by someone trying to do a Oxford accent, or a similar accent. Ireneparalegal 05-30-2008, 04:13 PM "Mother told me to expect days like this." No. Hint: it was said by someone trying to do a Oxford accent, or a similar accent. OMG, is it the English tutor? I can hear it in my head... but I can't put a face to it. tdr 05-30-2008, 05:22 PM No. A couple more hints: it was one of the earlier episodes, and those were this one-time character's parting words. Ireneparalegal 05-30-2008, 05:32 PM Was it Mr. Meriweather, the man in the seance episode? tdr 05-30-2008, 05:41 PM No. Perhaps that quote is too simple or too obscure; so another hint, one that will likely give it away: It was in one of 2 (at least) episodes in which the name/title Kaiser was referenced. Ireneparalegal 05-30-2008, 05:49 PM Damn. Ok when you say earlier episodes, I am thinking either season one or two. Am I correct? tdr 05-30-2008, 06:25 PM That's correct. Ireneparalegal 05-30-2008, 11:11 PM Is it in the DRAFTED episode? Haunted_Armoire 05-30-2008, 11:55 PM No. Perhaps that quote is too simple or too obscure; so another hint, one that will likely give it away: It was in one of 2 (at least) episodes in which the name/title Kaiser was referenced. I need the answer or I'll have to come to your house and hurt you. :bash: :smash: J/K! InspectorExstead 05-31-2008, 12:08 AM is that quote from Arthur, the guy Lucy was trying to hook up with Peggy for the dance? Haunted_Armoire 05-31-2008, 12:58 AM is that quote from Arthur, the guy Lucy was trying to hook up with Peggy for the dance? Read the thread..no one has guessed it. The main clue is KAISER. tdr 05-31-2008, 02:26 AM No, it's not in "Drafted." And, wow, this has proved so much harder than I thought, I'm beginning to doubt whether I really have it all straight. I just checked my log of all ILL eps I have on tape (I've never (yet) gotten into recording them on DVD), and I don't have the ep that quote is in. But I am very certain the name or title of Kaiser is mentioned (mark "mentioned"); there is no question that it's an early episode; and I am quite certain that the quote is the one-ep character's parting words. But possibly-- since I don't have the ep to check-- it may not be an exact quote-- it could be: "Mother told me there would be days like this" rather than "Mother told to expect days like this'... if that really makes any difference. But other than that, I don't know what to do but give a further hint which I think should be a giveaway, but maybe I'm again underestimating -- there was a case of mistaken identity involved. Brieannas21 05-31-2008, 10:28 AM No, it's not in "Drafted." And, wow, this has proved so much harder than I thought, I'm beginning to doubt whether I really have it all straight. What happens in the episode? Because there are no episodes from seasons 1&2 with the name Kaiser in the title tdr 05-31-2008, 12:11 PM By "title," I did not mean title of any episode... when was the last time Kaiser was the title of the head of state of a particular country. The reference thereto is a made-up story in the episode in question. Ireneparalegal 05-31-2008, 02:19 PM I remember KAISER being mentioned when Lucy and Ethel made fun of Fred wearing some old war uniform while Lucy is trying to remember Helen KAISER's last name because she needed a witness since she couldn't find her birth certificate. Ethel stated words to the effect of, "If the kaiser could see you now..." to Fred and then Lucy said, "That's It." Ethel then said, "That's what?" then Lucy stated, "That's Helen's last name...KAISER." tdr 05-31-2008, 03:24 PM I hope I'm not wrong about any of these clues (as well as the line itself!), but I can't verify them, not having a copy of the episode, and a web search for ILL scripts turns up nothing but a few for sale at steep dollars. So I'll try just one more... the actor who said the line as the character's parting words-- who also alluded to the Kaiser-- appeared in 2 ILL eps, this one in the first season, and another in the 6th season. He is not recognizable in one from the other, except with his voice-- he is dressed and groomed very differently. And he was at one time married to one of the celebrities Lucy impressions [but this has nothing to do with the previous clue, "There was a case of mistaken identity"]. Ireneparalegal 05-31-2008, 03:41 PM but the line was stated in season one? Brieannas21 05-31-2008, 04:47 PM I remember KAISER being mentioned when Lucy and Ethel made fun of Fred wearing some old war uniform while Lucy is trying to remember Helen KAISER's last name because she needed a witness since she couldn't find her birth certificate. Ethel stated words to the effect of, "If the kaiser could see you now..." to Fred and then Lucy said, "That's It." Ethel then said, "That's what?" then Lucy stated, "That's Helen's last name...KAISER." That's the only time that I remember that name mentioned in the earlier seasons also. Ireneparalegal 05-31-2008, 04:55 PM That's the only time that I remember that name mentioned in the earlier seasons also. Same here. I know my Lucy and believe me, I can't recall any other time the word KAISER was mentioned and if it was, it was said in such a way that it didn't sound that way. tdr 05-31-2008, 04:58 PM but the line was stated in season one? Yes; in fact the episode # is a single digit. I'm gone for the rest of the day. Ireneparalegal 06-02-2008, 06:32 PM I gave up that day to try and figure it out. Brieannas21 06-02-2008, 07:00 PM Yes; in fact the episode # is a single digit. I'm gone for the rest of the day. Ok heres my guess, was it......... Lucy Fred Ethel Ricky Little Ricky Ricky’s Agent Kenny The gas station guy from when the gang was traveling to Hollywood? Lewis Mr. Littlefield Mrs. Littlefield The Milkman (was his name Billy or something, the little chubby milkman) Mr. Meriweather Officer Jenkins Mr. Ritter Mother (from the Marriage License eppy) Father (From the Marriage License eppy) tdr 06-02-2008, 07:02 PM Okay... it was the tramp, who said his name was Harold, in "The Quiz Show" episode #5. While Lucy thought he was the man from the show [mistaken identity], and he took advantage to swipe a few things, Lucy said he was her first husband, presumed dead or missing in action, and he conjured up a story about the Battle of the Argon Woods, in which "The Kaiser's forces...." Then Ricky mentions that battle was in WWI, to which Lucy gives her "Ewww..." expression. A little later, Ethel comes in and wants to peek at him, and she tells Lucy that's the same tramp who had come to her door a few minutes before. As he leaves, Ricky removes the loot he had accumulated, and he says, "Mother told me to expect days like this." Ricky make a move to rush him, and he hurries away. The actor's name was John Emery, who also appeared in the 6th season ep, "Little Ricky Gets a Dog," as "Mr. Stewart," the new tenant threatening to leave because of the dog and the "no pets" rule. He was married to Tellulah Bankhead for 4 years; they divorced in 1941. Alright.. if anyone finds any errors in all this, let me know, and I will only post questions in which I can check out the answers ;) . Ireneparalegal 06-02-2008, 07:03 PM :brent Brieannas I already asked Mr. Meriweather, so cut him from that list. I went through my Lucy book and checked each episode information and I got a headache. Brieannas21 06-02-2008, 07:07 PM Okay... it was the tramp, who said his name was Harold, in "The Quiz Show" episode #5. Ireneparalegal 07-06-2008, 09:36 PM Oh you are right. I remember when Ethel said it to Lucy when she wasn't going to perform like a "seal" for Ricky's boss and his wife in the SCHEDULE episode. Madame X 07-08-2008, 05:52 PM Ethel The quote I'm thinking of wasn't Ethel, although maybe she said it too. Do you know in which ep. Ethel said that? "We're revolting." I know that Lucy said "I'm revolting" in "Ricky and Fred Are TV Fans," but I don't remember the quote of "We're revolting." Any help out there? Larry Surrell 07-08-2008, 07:40 PM Madame X, Ethel and Lucy said something like that in the Barney Kurtz episode. When Ethel was borrowing a table cloth and dinnerware for her dinner with Barney, I think Ethel asked Lucy if there's anything else of Lucy's she could borrow that's better than hers. Lucy said "Ricky, but you can't have him." Your quote is the daughter of the Earl (or Duke, I don't remember his title) in England who invited the Ricardos to his estate for the weekend. Haunted_Armoire 07-08-2008, 07:59 PM I know that Lucy said "I'm revolting" in "Ricky and Fred Are TV Fans," but I don't remember the quote of "We're revolting." Any help out there? I think Lucy and Ethel were in the kitchen washing dishes and Lucy calculates how many dishes they've washed in their marriages and both agree it's a disgusting amount. So they march into the living room and Lucy says "WE'RE REVOLTING" and Ricky says "No more than usual!" I can't remember the ep right now though. InspectorExstead 07-08-2008, 09:05 PM oooh i had forgotten that quote was used in the europe episodes by the daughter of the duke/earl (i can't remember who it was either. lol). i remember ethel asked lucy if her women's club could borrow ricky & lucy said something along the lines of "i'm not through with him yet" and then ethel said it was for a benefit. then lucy said if she wanted ricky, she'd get lucy as well. it was the episode titled "the benefit." and you're correct haunted armoire, lucy was referring to both herself & ethel when she said they were revolting. and then fred "no more than usual." lol. now you get to post a quote! Haunted_Armoire 07-08-2008, 09:12 PM Thanks! " I should have known you were from Alburquerque! You're so WARM and FRIENDLY!!" Haunted_Armoire 07-10-2008, 12:22 AM The other one was the lady who got DIRT tossed on her carpet by Lucy in "Sales Resistence". Any clues? :D tdr 07-10-2008, 09:45 PM "DON'T HOLD YOUR BREATH!!!" Lucy, in the 1st season episode about marital fights. Ricky tells her something like "When you're ready to apologize to me, you can call me at the club," and that is Lucy's response. "They're no good, ladies-- anybody can see that." Larry Surrell 07-10-2008, 10:02 PM I think the cop in "Equal Rights" said that about Ricky and Fred when they were in jail. "Tomorrow muggy, followed by tueggy, weggy, thurggy, fryggy and saggy." But I'm going to guess....Lucy talking to Ethel. Larry Surrell 07-11-2008, 08:05 PM I'm going to guess it was Ricky to Lucy when she was going to cook the burgers on the new grill that Ricky and Fred just finished building. Haunted_Armoire 07-11-2008, 08:06 PM The "cook them tomorrow" quote was Ricky as he picked up the burgers and told Lucy the barbeque was too wet to cook them that day. Larry Surrell 07-12-2008, 11:35 AM Actually, the quote I was thinking of was John Wayne while Lucy and Ethel were fawning all over him in the hotel room. Haunted_Armoire 07-12-2008, 09:23 PM That was Fred talking about Fred. :D "Salt cellar's EMPTY!!" Haunted_Armoire 07-13-2008, 01:55 PM It was Ricky to Lucy in "Lucy Wants New Furniture" when they're eating dinner in the living room and he need salt for his steak. Here's an EASY one: "I thought you'd be TALLER by now!!" Larry Surrell 07-13-2008, 02:01 PM Your previous quote had me confused. I didn't know what you meant by salt cellar! The last quote was Lucy's doctor from Jamestown when she was locked in the trunk. Fred...Fred...Fred Fred Fred!!! Haunted_Armoire 07-13-2008, 02:26 PM Your previous quote had me confused. I didn't know what you meant by salt cellar! ] Neither did the writers. :D Ricky should have said "salt SHAKER". A salt cellar is a dish of salt that you lift up with a little spoon. Your new quote is Ethel calling Fred to Little Ricky's drum beat! :D New one: "Yes. The SHELLS! " Larry Surrell 07-13-2008, 07:46 PM Ethel at lunch with Lucy and Betty Ramsey. I love Ethel's sarcastic comments in that scene. I still laugh when I watch it, even though I've probably seen it 50 times! "Keep jiggling Peggy." |
