he conned an elerly lady out of tens of millions of dollars. she lost an antebellum estate because of him.

I believe his name was Dan Tondevold and the elderly lady he conned was Ellen Berry.

Either that was him that was killed in South Carolina, or he's been on the run for a while now.

I wonder if Ellen Berry is still alive. Maybe she's one of those people who has survived into her 100s.

she was fortunate that she had made an investment she could rent an apartment off of.
