Easy premise--hopefully fun

Simply answer who said the quote in the post.

then come up with another quote for the next poster.

ok, let's start

"I think it would have been a lot clearer if EXACT WORDS were used."

Since no one else is gonna play, I'll answer my own post!

Carol

Alright, James, that's the way to play it!

Greg(?)

"Guess who's coming to dinner.....I'm not sure, but I think it's Humphrey Bogart"

I know Alice said the second line, but I can't really be sure who said the first line.

Jude The Obscure
05-24-2008, 11:01 AM
The answer is Cindy and Alice.

I really thought this game would go over better than this, oh well......

Here's an easy one

"Meow" :lol:

Smartboy
05-24-2008, 05:29 PM
I believe that the answer to this one is Fluffy the cat who was shown in the pilot episode but never seen or mentioned again!

Later on in the first season, who was it who said "did you hear that all you other ghosts? This house is no longer for sale!

SKay
05-24-2008, 08:54 PM
Mike? (It's been awhile since I've seen these; I remember the lines, but not who said them.)

"Cindy, let me hear you sing something."

Greg

"You know what, Greg, we'll start a rumor about her!"

That was one of Greg's friends (his campaign manager i think) when Greg ran against Marcia for Student Body President.

How about: "We sure spread sunshine around"

SKay

Greg

I think it was Peter rather than Greg who asked Cindy to sing.

Now back to the contest . . .

Marcia

"No, Dad! That's sissy food!"

Greg, during the camping trip in one of the early episodes.

Here's a double quote, which two characters said this:

Q: "Oh No!!! How can I be so stupid?"
A: "You must practice a lot"

Jude The Obscure
05-29-2008, 10:30 PM
I know the first part is Jan
the second part--Bobby?

"No thanks, Mr. Brady, I'll be able to water them myself"

Actually, the first part was Jan..but the 2nd part was Peter... Jan had just informed him that he forgot to sign the love letter he slipped into Kerry Hathaway's locker.

The "No thanks Mr Brady.." line sounds like Alice.

"Hey, how about that, the kid knows the jargon" ?

(not necessarily a member of the family)

Jude The Obscure
05-29-2008, 10:45 PM
ok, I think you meant to say Peter was first and Jan was second--now I recall the lines!

At first I thought you were referring to Jan ruining the Anniversary photo!

Yup, sorry 'bout that... Peter was the one who said "how can i be so stupid"

Here's one:

"But Alice!"
"Don't 'But Alice!' me!"

Who had the exchange?

I'm pretty sure the second one is Alice :)

Would the first one be Sam, by any chance?

That was Alice.

"What's with the spaghetti?"

Jude The Obscure
06-08-2008, 10:32 AM
Apparently no one knows what's with the spaghetti.....

Let's not try not to use very obscure quotes.......this is not Jepoardy! or Millionaire

"You couldn't get me to scuba dive, even if they promised me mouth-to-mouth resucitation with Cary Grant!"

BarneyFife
06-08-2008, 11:57 AM
That sounds like something Alice would say.

SKay
06-08-2008, 01:13 PM

"What's with the spaghetti?"
Skip Farnum (referring to Alice's hair)

Does BarneyFife get to give the next quotation?

Jude The Obscure

He should have but whoever comes up with one first, feel free--keep the game going, folks! :)

SKay

Who said, "Without life, you're dead"?

Jude The Obscure
07-02-2008, 10:55 AM
That quote seems familiar but I can't place who said it--uhmm, Cindy?

Anyway, this game seems to have dropped by the wayside :(

"But how do you get the toothpaste through all that barbed wire?"

SKay
07-02-2008, 03:25 PM
It was Greg in the episode "My Brother's Keeper" when Peter was trying to get philosophical while the others were talking about wallpaper (Greg was making fun of him).

Back to your question
"But how do you get the toothpaste through all that barbed wire?"

Tweety

That sounds like Cindy, when Marcia got her braces and had to wear them for an ENTIRE episode.

But I'm not sure about:

"Without life, you're dead"?

SKay
07-02-2008, 03:33 PM
Tweety, we posted at almost the same time. The answer to the "without life you're dead" is in my previous post (#42) in case you miss it.

Jude The Obscure
07-02-2008, 11:08 PM
yep, it is Cindy! :)

ok, someone come up with a quote :D

sixfingers

"at your age that's a long time!"

Bonus points for naming who it was said to!

Jude The Obscure
07-08-2008, 11:23 PM
Well sixfingers, apparently no one knows this one......

so we'll move on......

"I bet it landed in the Dittmeyer's BBQ again"

sixfingers
07-09-2008, 08:52 AM
"at your age that's a long time!"

It was Cindy in Never To Young after Bobbie told her that if Greg and Peter found out about him kissing Millicent he'd be ruined for life.

Tweety
07-09-2008, 08:56 AM
....."I bet it landed in the Dittmeyer's BBQ again"

Would that have been Mike? Seems that the Dittmeyers weren't mentioned very often by name.

Jude The Obscure
07-09-2008, 11:05 AM
Actually it was Carol, practicing her fishing technique (in the episode where her and Cindy both had their tonsils out) :)

so Tweety--your turn to come up with a quote!

Ah ok, makes sense (about Carol).... I figured it was either Mike or Carol.

Here's a quote I used before, but it got lost in the shuffle:

"How about that, the kid knows the jargon"

That crazy ad guy played by Paul Winchell?

No, but you're sort of on the right track... in the sense that, as you can probably tell, it was not said by a member of the Brady family.

It was said by someone who:

1) Appeared in more than one episode and
2) Did not have their face in the Brady grid

Jude The Obscure
07-16-2008, 11:34 PM
Sam Da Butcha! :D ???

Jim Bakkus? (Mike's Boss and some other characters)
(or do you mean that the charcter appeared more than once?)

Tweety
07-17-2008, 05:23 AM
Jim Bakkus? (Mike's Boss and some other characters)

You're correct... It was Jim Backus (he played Mr. Mathews, Mike's boss in "The Hustler"). He sends the Bradys a pool table, and when Bobby played pool against him, his "jargon" comment was directed at Bobby.

Backus, of course, also played "prospector" Zaccariah T. Brown, who locked the Bradys in the Ghost Town jail cell because he thought they were trying to "jump his claim".

So he appeared in more than one episode, but he played to completely different characters.

So it's your turn to come up with a quote now, six.

Jude The Obscure

The very last line of the series as said by Oliver! :D

"You hear that all you other ghosts? The house is no longer for sale!"

James
07-18-2008, 01:21 AM
That would be Mike after the kids haunted the house so they wouldn't have to move!

Here's one: "We've got enough food to feed Cleveland, Ohio!"
