I recently watched this Lost Loves segment for the first time and it was such a heartbreaking case that it brought me to tears :( anyway, I'd love to know if anyone knows if there was an update :)

For those who don't remember it was about a man, Donald Stratt who was searching for his sister, Delores.

In all I think they were 10 brothers and sisters including Delores, but she is the only one who hasn't been found yet. The nine of them were reunited in the mid sixties.

Because their mother wasn't able to take care of them and their father was institutionalized, Donald and Delores were put in a Lutheran Childrens Home by the state of Iowa, this was problably in the early 1940s.

Donald always took care of his sister, comforted her when she was sad and played with her. A really touching scene is when the two of them tried to escape in a car(!) to go home to their mother, but of course the head nurse caught them and Delores was put in a foster family. She was unwilling to bound with them because she missed her brother, and they decided to allow him being there just to make Dolores feel better. The head nurse later took him away from them and he hasn't seen Delores since. :(

This aired in -92 and he had been searching for her for about 50 years. He seemed like such a nice guy and I really hope he found her eventually. Does anyone know if there was an update?

This is one of my most favorite lost love cases. Donald Stratt seems like such a sweet man and this one makes me tear up as well. It seems like I remember seeing an update with Donald hugging a woman, does anyone else remember for sure?

Hey CD, hope you're right about this one :) I believe you put some Lost Love cases (with updates) on vol 13, there could be a slim chance there was an update there. I don't remember if it was aired after 1992 though.

I just saw this episode on Spike and the two were reunited. In fact, Delores was watching the show. Also, Delores was reunited with her mother, too.

yes I just saw this one last night...they run it quite a bit. Being from Iowa I can say I was horrified by how the state treated him...taking him to quiet down his little sister and then when he'd served his purpose taking him back to the foster home...adopting parents were pretty heartless to to let him be used like that...like kids don't have any kind of feelings or anything!!!!!
