An untimely ad campaign at WURG puts a damper on Chuck and Kelly's plans to disclose their parenthood to everyone. Marsh gives Gary a gift that he immediately regrets giving him.

This is almost sad. Just knowing that this could be the way the show goes out doesn't seem right at all. Although, ending with an episode like this is actually a good way to end it. Gracie knows Chuck's her father, and now they're trying to keep it a secret. This episode seems fitting as a series finale - let's just hope it isn't.

I can almost guarantee they will, all things considered (it's involving the Chuck and Kelly storyline which seems to spark the most interest, and it's the series finale). If it doesn't, I'll admit defeat-LOL

If they really wanted this show to go out with a bang...so to speak, they'll move AI to 8pm and let BTY have its send off at 9pm. lol

That's what I just don't get, they have been sending out their stars all this time to do interviews. They made cast changes, why give up now?

By the way, Kelsey Grammer will be on the Tavis Smiley show on 5/12/08. It'll be interesting to hear what he has to say.

Yeah, they've definitely been sending their stars out to promote the show. Again, it makes me wonder why. FOX just makes no sense whatsoever.

I'd love to hear his reaction on Tavis Smiley. It would also be a great way to spark more interest in what can be done to save the show. But first I have to find out what the Tavis Smiley Show is . . .

Check your local listings, I think he is on PBS stations, but I am not 100% sure.

Kelsey didn't know that the show was being cancelled at the time when he was on Tavis Smiley or on Jimmy Friday night. I am sure he feels pretty uncomfortable at this time. He, Patty, and the rest of the cast should have been treated better then this. Sad about the show. It should of been at CBS from the begining. What can we do to keep this show on air.

I hope the BTY ratings are high. I know with another show, 7th Heaven, the WB was going to end the show. But, after the network aired the series finale and saw the ratings they gave the show another season.

This may be a stretch, but personally, I'm hoping for big ratings, close to 8 million. I mean, people know this could very well be the series finale. We've been advertising the hell out of it for the past 3 days. I just hope people decide to tune in this time. Seeing huge ratings for this episode could persudade both FOX and CBS to renew the show . . . you never know what could happen.

So I'm watching House and during a commercial break I see a commercial for Til Death. At the end the promo has season finale listed for BOTH TD and BTY. I'm sure they didn't want to change promos at the last minute... Unless FOX is just saying they're canceling it to see how many people will watch the show?

I noticed the same thing this morning . . . they probably don't want people knowing they made a bad decision-LOL. Either that, or it isn't exactly the series finale, because they still have 4 more episodes to air. Maybe if they do decide to air those, then they'll call the final one the series finale.

Or, maybe they know something that we don't . . .

So is it FOX promoting the episode at all or are they just mentioning that BTY season's finale will air after the dreadful Til Death?

I also noticed that audiences unlimited are still listing BTY's tapings for today and next Tuesday. I wonder if they're going on with the two last tapings. They updated the cancelation section yesterday but left BTY's dates there..They were the last two episodes out of the eight ordered by FOX post strike.

From the ad my local FOX showed, there was a small shot of the episode, maybe a few seconds along, that said "Season finale of Back to You." Nothing big, but at least they're promoting it at all.

It's good to hear the tapings are still going on. I think that tells us that FOX will still air the other 4 episodes at some point, whether it be in the summer or in the fall. I don't understand why they don't just air them now.

Because trashy 'Moment of Truth' will return in two weeks.

Anyway, I doubt Fox will air the remaining four episodes. I'm hoping they will be included in a DVD release, if there's one.

I think FOX will burn them off somewhere buried in the summer schedule, maybe on a Saturday or Sunday night where no one can find them. If CBS does get this show, maybe FOX could pass them over to them.

Fox owns those episodes, they would never hand them over even if it means burying them and never airing them, ever! Let's pray for a DVD Release and CBS Pick UP!

I've been praying since Saturday ;)

Hopefully 20th FOX will put them out on DVD. They're currently releasing HIMYM, so let's hope they'll release Back to You as well. It would be a shame to not be able to watch them at all.

I found this at the fox website. It was posted by a girl (TeenyTiny (whatever4551) who went to the last taping last night. I'm sure she won't mind me pasting this here. But it's an interesting read. Enjoy!

Well, I just went to the taping of Back To You this evening and I am even more disappointed now about the cancellation than I was when i first heard the bad news. This show is not only a joy to watch at home in my living room, but it was such a joy to watch it live. Even the retakes were hilarious! I just can't even believe that they would cancel this show!? It really doesn't make sense to me at all. Not to mention, I went to a taping of Til Death on Friday (which fox is keeping on for a 3rd season) and comparatively, BTY is solid, fast paced, entertaining and the chemistry between the actors is beyond apparent. All things that were missing from the Til Death taping. The Back To You taping lasted about 3 hours and every minute of it was fantastically hilarious and the best entertainment I have seen in years! It was an honor to be a part of the very last taping (ON FOX!), but CBS NEEDS to pick this show up. There will be a huge void without this show now that we have been given a taste of it. Honestly, the entire audience was laughing so hysterically that it was hard to hear the immediately following jokes/lines, which were usually equally as hilarious so the laughing started all over again! It was seriously so funny and just wonderful to see people laughing so much and enjoying themselves so thoroughly. I loved it!

Seeing Patricia Heaton live was a treat for me because she is that actor I put up on my actors pedestal, especially for this medium and I definitely wasn't disappointed. The chemistry between she & Kelsey JUMPS out at you, whether you are watching it on TV or right there in the studio audience, but Patty is SO captivating! And good grief she looks fantastic, not even just for a 50 year old, but considering that... I want her secrets!

Furthermore, it's hard to tell how an episode is going to turn out when you see it live, but judging by the fact that I was bummed when it was over & time to go--that it just didn't seem long enough after 3 hours--the 22 minutes they edit together will undoubtedly be fabulous and deserve to be seen/aired!

Also, they showed the episode that will air tomorrow before the taping began and you really don't want to miss it! I had tears I was laughing so hard! Great stuff!!! FOX SERIOUSLY GOOFED canceling this COMEDY!

Oh! One more thing. I have to comment on the differences in the BTY and Til Death audience members. BTY had pretty intelligent folks and it was a really comfortable experience, where as Til Death had a very "interesting" audience! I felt like a freak because I didn't come from a rehabilitation center! ;)

I finally cought a promo of the show during AI last night.
I've read many comments, like the one above, that say the episode is hilarious. I saw a promo today during Patty's appearance on RR show and it really looks very funny, to not mention that histerical picture of Chuck and kelly. My point is the promo on FOX doesn't make it justice at all! Hmmm I wonder why ...

I caught a new promo last night . . . it showed a scene from Til Death, then had nothing about Back to You until the last second, when it said "Back to You Series Finale" at the bottom. Are there any other promos that are actually promoting the episode floating around?

BTW, I noticed you changed your Username. I've been wanting to do that for awhile now, I'm just not sure people will recognize me with a new name.

I have seen only one promo... but I don't watch FOX so I can't really tell. The one I saw made it seem like Til Death had the funnier one (and that's streching it by a lot.) The one from BTY just showed Kelly and Chuck saying to Ginger: We had a child! And then Ryan & Gary saying OMG. I mean it's a promo for the season/series finale they could do much better. Showing that PIC alone would make people LOL and tune in ... let alone listen to the jingle "Chuck and Kelly doing it again" I'm telling you, it's hilarious!

Don't worry, we all know who you are by now :) But to have the ease of mind you can include you're former ID on your signature.

I agree they definitively left in a high note. The fact that they let everyone in on the 'secret' gave me some closure.....if I can ever have one.

I had trouble enjoying it though :( with the cancellation thought on the back of my mind. Didn't know what to do, laugh at "Chuck and Kelly doin' it again" or cry knowing that "Chuck and Kelly won't be doin' it again" :(

I'M HERE, I'm HERE!!!!-LOL. OMG, this episode was awesome! I absolutely loved this episode. The episode was slow at the beginning for me, but I don't want to get into that right now. All I want to say is that this episode was great, fantastic, by far at the top of the list of episodes. The scene towards the end, when the whole newsroom cam together for a whole group picture, I felt as if I had been watching this show for 10 years, and was about to cry at the thought of possibly never watching it again. That's exactly how I felt - this episode was GREAT to have a series finale (just in case, of course). FOX and everyone involved with the show honestly did a great job on this one - we can finally having something to give them credit on now.

I thought it was friggin hillarious when Ryan showed them the poster - "Chuck and Kelly . . . Doin' it Again"-LOL. Then the music that stuck through the entire episode got me laughing hard. I was actually crying when Chuck and Kelly announced to the world that they were the parents of a 10 year old child - that just made the episode for me. Then of course, the final 2 scenes, with Chuck and Kelly at the morning show studio and the car ride home. What a great episode!!!!!!!!!! I just can't get over it yet.

I think this gave great closure. The only thing that could've given it more was a possible future relationship for Chuck and Kelly but that would've felt rushed and akward in tonight's episode. If it had gotten a full 22-24 episodes and then been cancelled, I think they would've gotten that in there if they had known in advance.

Yeah, the station manager has been growing on me. I think she would make a pretty good replacement for Montana. I love it how she's nice one minute, then mean the next-LOL.

I kind of have a hard time with the new Gracie myself - I know she has a lisp, which makes it harder to understand her. Besides that, I just think the original Gracie was much better for the role.

Is there any news at all on this show? I know on FOX's lineup, they had a space open in their midseason lineup next year for a TBD sitcom. That could be the slot for Back to You on Wednesdays at 9:30 after AI. That sounds like the absolute perfect slot for BTY, where it should have been in the first place. I don't wanna get anyone's hopes up, but wouldn't that be great??

I also have to laugh, because in the fall they're giving Til Death a slot at 9pm after Bones. It's already destined to do better in that slot. I just don't understand why they couldn't have done that this season with BTY. It makes no sense at all.

Wow, thankyou so much for doing this! It'll give the site a whole new look-LOL. You came to these boards at the right time. Thanks for helping us out with this one.

YESSS!!!!! I was praying all day today it would go above 7 million, and it just made it! I couldn't be happier right now! I believe this is the first time in the past 5 weeks the show has gone up from Til Death by more than a million viewers. I think it's just sad that their so-called hit sitcom can't even manage 6 million viewers, while their cancelled sitcom can manage 7 million. Seriously, WTF???

Actually, I have it on good authority that Lily Jackson has a "Pallette expander" as well as braces-no lisp. It is hard to get your tongue around words with that much metal in your mouth ;)

You're probably right. I just don't understand why'd they replace Laura with a girl with all that work in her mouth (not to sound harsh).

They wanted a little girl that is completely natural and not "Hollywood".

I agree! I would do everything even just to let the cast and the crew realize that we loved the show and we support them, out of loyalty and respect...regardless of whether the show comes back or not. And if it doesn't I hope Patty and kelsey find a way to work together again. I think we were deprived of a great collaboration between two great masters of comedy!

Well said, a splash of water certainly couldn't hurt the "Alphabet Network." ;)

Besides, if they can produce such crap as Cavemen, Carpoolers, Knights of Prosperity, and countless other clunkers, while renewing a tired 'According to Jim', why not give BTY a shot? It's certainly better than all that other nonsense.

Actually, I like the idea of sending to ABC a lot more. THey've been trying to get a good sitcom block for years, especially for next season. I can almost assure you their new comedies will clunk - and ABC definitely is the older-skewing network of them all, I think BTY could find a nice new home there.

ABC definitely has the money to buy the show. They have some of the biggest hits - Grey's Anatomy, Desperate Housewives, Lost - that are all some of the most expensive shows to produce on television. BTY would fit in just fine ;)

Brian, I think you might have given us the next big idea for the campaign! We should get everone to send a buck or two, for the exact reason you said! The show's budget is huge, we get that - so let's make a joke out of that, and get people to send a dollar to help out!!!!

I think that's absolutely brilliant! It's cheaper than water, and easier to stick in an envelope, without all the extra shipping fees!

I love this! Why weren't we this creative weeks ago?-LOL Well, I'll start advertising. Should we start a new sticky thread for this idea?

And who do we send the money to? FOX? CBS? ABC? I'm thinking all 3, but then instead of $1, it would be $3. Maybe just FOX or CBS?

Yeah, we really haven't seen much of that yet. She reacted to the fact that Chuck's her dad in the episode that aired 3 Wednesdays ago, but it was kind of out there the way she did it, IMO.

BTW, I've been trying to get word out about our $1 idea. I think it's a good. I've been hearing many people complain about the water not being :"eco-friendly," so I also suggested them send ampty bottles, or even bottle labels.

We definitely should - I've been saying only FOX and CBS, but I guess ABC is in the drawing now too! I've been saying to maybe write a letter to go along with it. I already wrote a nice long letter to FOX, with a $5 bill, which I plan to send along with the petition on Monday morning!

I'll probably have to get something together to send to CBS as well, before it's too late with them. FOX, afterall, still has the show, so we can take our time with them.

Hey guys I don't want to sound like the party popper but I think we're kind of going all over the place here and it may hurt the outcome of our first campaign. Our 'water' campaign has gained some momentum and visibility, if we bring another one 'one dollar bills' it may just get too confusing for people.

Now I like the 'dollar bill' idea and maybe if we had thought about it earlier it might have been easier to accomplish than sending water. We could have donated as much as $20 and as little as $1 to CBS/ABC community fund or to some charitable organization in honor of Back to You. But we didn't, and now that we are in the middle of one thing we can't add another because we'll loose consistency.

Fox yes, it makes perfectly sense as a joke : let's send empty bottles of water and let the fans of "BTY" create an unemployment fund for Kevin Reilly by donating $1!

Like I said, I'm invested like all of you in bringing the show back and if everyone agrees I'll send the money but I don't think it's a good idea at the stage we're now.

My two cents:wave:

I understand what we're getting at, but after reading several posts at several boards, I've gotten comments that water was too hard to send, it's not environmentally-friendly, and it's too expensive. I kind of came up with kind of a second campaign to help those people out, with the $1 dollar idea. I mean, I get what you're saying by the campaign kind of being all over the place, but I'm just trying to get people to do whatever they can to help the cause. After all, it's better than not sending anything at all!

I say we stick with the idea, but make the water idea our main focus, as well as getting people to send letters and emails. After all, water costs more to send, while all people have to do is send a dollar or more in an envelope, maybe with a letter to go along with. It's just easier on some people.

ALso, we seriously need to get all our campaign situated in one place. It's kind of been all over this board . . . we need to come together at one thread to discuss these things.
