Did Tracey (I think that's the "daughter's name) not realize that Teddy died? I mean, why didn't she at least wipe off the lipstick?

^ LOL! Either she didn't realize he was dead or she's one cold woman. Was she was only pretending to be his daughter? If not, then thats kind of sick. But with this show you never know. LOL!

Courtney was a con artist... She had already conned Charlie once with the Ferrari in a previous episode.

Yes, she was only pretending to be Teddy's daughter... It's explained near the end that Courtney and Teddy were actually a couple, and were a Bonnie and Clyde type team of grifters/cons that would travel around to rip people off in marriage scams.

If anything.. Courtney knew that Teddy was already dead, and took Charlie upstairs in order to try to cover her tracks.

A slip up? A plot device? Remember, this episode was written by the CSI writers.. so best not to overthink it. In writing, they just needed a way to wrap it all up in 20 minutes and not make it over-complicated as it would be in a 40 minute CSI episode.

Also.. Usually on CSI, the investigators find silly little things that... ie the lipstick.. most people aren't going to think of.

Oh.. and another thing... It wasn't a murder... Teddy died of a heart attack. Courtney probably didn't think to wipe him off... or she didn't know that he was dead. Remember, she took Charlie up to the same room after he had already died.
