I know that most of them are for moms but i have one of her bible study books for moms and i havent read it yet but i think itll be really good, im reading "This is My Life" right now and it is wonderful because you get to write your life story, read her life story and have a bible study at the same time. I absolutely love it and recommend it to everyone to read. you wont regret it.

Ireneparalegal 05-08-2008, 09:54 PM I have never read any of her books. I didn't realize she had a few out there. I only know of the one book where she mentioned something abt putting hot sauce on your child's tongue when they say bad words. But I didn't know abt the others.

InspectorExstead 05-09-2008, 01:30 AM because I do and I absolutely love them. that one sounds interesting! i read "the facts of life (and other lessons my father taught me" a couple of years ago. but i've been wanting to read it lately. it was a very good book. lisa is definitely a talented writer. i'm going to check out "this is my life" as well.
JoPol_wannabe 05-09-2008, 12:04 PM I have read two of her books. The facts of life and other lessons my father taught me and The Adventure of Christmas.
I really liked both of them they were really good. Here Facts of life book was my favorite she tells about her life in great detail and I love the part about how she came to love and know God. I like Lisa she is my role model but after I read that book I got a new fond respect for her and I thought to myself that's the type of Christian person I want to be, just like her.
The Adventure of Christmas is also a great book. It is a book that talks about the meaning of Christmas and what it is all about. This book is supposed to be used as a teaching tool to teach your kids what Christmas is all about and why it's such an important holiday. And not only does it tell about Christmas but Lisa also wrote some fun activities you can do with your kids to help them learn more about it. I learned allot from this book not that I don't know the religious meaning and why Christmas is so important. But she wrote something’s that I didn't every know or consider which was nice. These two books are great I recommend them both.
blairmusica 05-12-2008, 09:05 PM yeah, I've read "facts of Life and other lessons my Father taught me" and the Me in Mommy book. Both good, esp the former, wonderful to read of Lisa's time on FOL. Very Intersting how seperate she was from the others. I really admire how she placed God first in her life, at the sacrifice of her career. She's a very good writer, very easy read, never dull. Check 'em out1:wave:
catlover79 05-13-2008, 12:35 AM Just yesterday I bought Creative Correction and gave it to my sister. I think she'll need it, as my nephew is entering the terrible twos.

Lastdaysofrain 05-14-2008, 09:24 AM Eh, persecution is part of your whole deal, enjoy it.
Being a fan of Facts and the 80s I checked out one of her books and aside from the unintentional humor she came accross to me like an insane person.

how could she come across as insane!?! shes perfectly normal! whats your deal?
Nanc and Lisa! 05-15-2008, 12:18 PM I can't believe that you would say something so terrible. All of her books are amazing and if you ever get the chance to meet her and hear her speak, you would know how amazing and talented she is. and for those of you who are going to purchase her books from LisaWhelchel.com, she will autograph and personalize anything you buy from her site. We should all start reading one of her books and discuss it on the boards! i personally reccomend "This is my Life"

Irene, you will have to go to Lisa's webpage to buy her books in that most of them are out-of-print. However, this isn't a bad deal since Lisa signs the books! :D

I'm not sure how you came away from reading one of Lisa's books and found her to be "insane". When I read her books, I found her to be a beautiful human being. Lisa is one of those rare people who is as beautiful on the inside as she is on the outside.
Nighthawk76 05-15-2008, 08:12 PM I read Lisa's wonderful memoir The Facts of Life and Other Lessons My Father Taught Me and it changed my life. I also bought one of her bible study books.
