View Full Version : Season 11
Wreckless 05-06-2008, 04:00 PM I downloaded Season 11 from a torrent site and it's clear how different it is from the other seasons, although it's a good season, it seems like Season 11 was recorded years later from Seasons 1-10 in my mind. The series plot shifts to all Fonzie and no Richie, even in Seasons 8-9, Richie is still involved and Ralph/Potsie are venturing off into something and Richie tags along, maybe with the Fonz. For example, one episode in the final season is about Fonzie working at the school Roger works at. Some punk is stealing money etc. from other people's lockers and Fonzie trys to stop the bullying/stealing and the kid accuses Fonzie of hitting him, which he doesn't end up doing. The series seems flipped, as the Cunninghams used to be the center of the plot, with Fonzie as a main character also, or as a minor/side character in the show's beginning. Then as this season comes about, Fonzie is fully the center of attention while the Cunninghams are still in the picture but mentioned on the side along with Joanie, maybe Chuck is mentioned once per 10 episodes. Thoughts on the final season's change? I know why Richie isn't on their, i'm talking as far as plots go for Season 11.
anglemark10 05-06-2008, 10:39 PM I did find the final season different from those before it, but not for the reasons you describe. I didn't really detect any change in focus as far as the characters go (with the exception of Joanie and Chachi getting more attention because they returned to the series). Fonzie was always a huge focus beginning with the third season. The change I noticed was with the quality of the episodes. The writing, in my opinion, was far superior to, say, seasons 9 and 10. Season 11 was, perhaps, my favorite of the entire series.
I don't understand what you're referring to in terms of Richie, Ralph, and Potsie in seasons 8-9. You do know that Richie and Ralph joined the army after season 7 and were never seen, right? Also, Potsie's role was greatly reduced because of this. As for Chuck, he was never mentioned after the first few seasons of the show.
Wreckless 05-07-2008, 02:56 AM ^ I got confused with what seasons Ritchie left, so i added on acouple of years, my bad. But yeah, i think season 11 was really good. As far as Fonzie, yea he was mentioned alot/the focus of the show primarily around the end of the 2nd/3rd season, but even then, most plots started out at the cunningham's house or associated with the cunninghams. Even in the episode in season 11 where fonzie moves out, he's moving out from above the cunningham's, the people that let him in with warmth. I just think it was different, but in a good way. But I agree with your reasons, the production/plots compared to the 2/3 seasons before were alot better, although one thing i kind of thought was sort of stupid was that Fonzie couldn't do any wrongdoing, even if he was caught in a dilemma. And as far as Chuck, even past Season 2, the family mentioned Chuck rarely, but more so then they did in the final season, especially in one christmas episode where Howard asks where Chuck is.
spreckenzeedeu 05-07-2008, 10:29 AM Well. Taste is different. As has to be different.
Speaking for myself: I only like ...let's say... a handful Episodes from the Seasons 8 till 11.
I prefer the Seasons before, when the Boys were together!
