NEWINGTON, Conn. -- A Connecticut couple gathered with friends and family in Newington on Wednesday to mark their 80th wedding anniversary.
It was all champagne and celebration as Peter and Anna Mascolo celebrated their anniversary. The couple was married on April 23, 1928.
"They went by so fast," said Anna Mascolo of the past 80 years. "I think now -- Where did they go? I think of the things we did. They go by and you don't realize it. If you have a good marriage, you have no regrets."
The couple renewed their vows in Italian at a family event hosted by the couple's son, soap opera star Joseph Mascolo.
"They've been married than a lot of us lived. They've been married for 80 years and they still talk to each other and I think it really was based on love," Joseph Mascolo said.
Peter Mascolone is 106 years old and Ana Mascolo is 96. Both came to Hartford from Naples.
Anna Mascolo said love is the secret behind her eight-decade marriage.
"It takes two to tango, and if you love one another, that's the main thing," she said
