View Full Version : I Met Todd Bridges Today!
JethroSimpson 05-04-2008, 01:43 PM I went to a cult film/TV convention today here in England, hoping to get the chance to see Todd Bridges who was going to be there. I found his table and I went up to him and spoke and then he signed an autograph for me. I then got my picture taken with him and shook hands.
I was feeling a bit startsruck - having watched Diff'rent Strokes for so long it was really strange to be meeting him. But he seemed genuinly nice, he was very polite and happy to talk to me.
If I can get my camera working with my PC I can post up the picture later if anybody wants me to.

OMG. you're so lucky. i wanted to go as well, but i couldn't find the details. do you know in which part of england this was held? i know someone posted a thread last year about todd visiting the UK this month, but it didn't say where exactly this convention was. anyhow, that's so cool.
and yes, i'd love to see the photo as well :)

The event is called "Collector Mania" (www.collectormania.com) and is held in Milton Keynes in a shopping centre right in the middle of town. I think they hold them twice a year, although this was the first time I had ever been to one. Gary Coleman was meant to be attending too - but pulled out a few weeks ago, presumably because of his divorce.

That is great. Glad that you got a chance to meet him. I am not sure if Gary would have been as receptive. BTW, Gary did not get divorced, he and his wife went to court for some counseling. That is cool that you were able to attend. Start posting more on the boards. You took some major time away from us.

Yes it would have been interesting to see how Gary would have acted since I thought he had a reputation for not liking to talk about the show anymore. I do plan to start posting on here more often again since I've been watching DS and the other similar sitcoms a lot recently. I have tried to upload the picture on here but the file is too big as it keeps saying error. If anybody wants to see it I will be happy to e-mail it to you if you send me a PM with your e-mail address.
catlover79 05-09-2008, 12:25 AM Great story - thanks for sharing! Todd has always struck me as a cool, down-to-earth kind of guy and you just confirmed it. :D
Ireneparalegal 05-09-2008, 12:38 AM cool!!!!! I bet Todd is such a nice guy.
