You're right - DeBarge's signature song, "Rhythm of the Night" is featured in this flick. So is one of my all-time favorite ballads, "First Time on a Ferris Wheel", sung by Smokey Robinson and Syreeta.

I got this movie on DVD and it still holds up to this day. I just like seeing a mostly black movie or show where blacks aren't pissed off all the time. I remember when it came out, brings back memories.

I believe it was. I have it in my collection, but it's been a while since I actually watched it. I am 90% sure it WAS her only appearance in the movie.
