When newly appointed WURG station manager Ginger Ko decides to make some unpopular changes to the newsroom, Chuck and Kelly pay her a visit. Despite their intentions to confront her about the proposed changes, Ginger turns on the charm, sending Chuck and Kelly away feeling good about the transition. However, the aftermath from their seemingly innocent exchange causes quite a stir in the newsroom, especially for Ryan, who has to step up and carry out a career-first responsibility. Meanwhile, Gary is apprehensive about booking a cruise with his wife for fear the new boss won't agree to him taking the time off, and Marsh accidentally takes his wife's estrogen pill.

I don't get the point of airing the episodes out of order. I know they want to move along the Chuck/Kelly plotline, but FOX is REALLY airing these episodes out of order.

If anybody watched the View this morning, Patricia was on and they showed a clip from this week's upcoming episode. I was happy with what I saw! They wrap up Ayda's character nicely.

Montana gets fired!

I really liked this episode a lot. Marsh had me in stitches the whole time. The big reveal at the end with Montana was funny as well. The only thing I will be critical of in this episode was Ryan.

I think he acted a bit over the top this week with his reactions. Other than that, I give it a :thumbsup:

I enjoyed it alot. I still don't know what episode it was meant to be in order since it was out of order but I thought it was great.

It was an excellent episode. I still don't like that they got rid of Montana but at least they gave her a proper farewell.

Agreed, it would've sucked if she just "disappeared" like has happened in past sitcoms.

As for Laura Marano, no, she was not credited in the opening, but there was a picture of her on Kelly Carr's desk in her office.

Tonight's "Back to You" got a few things pretty right. No, not the new station manager, who seemed more likely to work at a West Coast station than one in Pittsburgh, but other elements synced well with reality.

The plot of the episode had the new station manager (Suzy Nakamura) firing forecaster Montana (Ayda Field), a character we knew was about to depart the series. This episode sealed her fate.

Kelly (Patricia Heaton) warned Chuck (Kelsey Grammer) that Montana's replacement may not be much better.

"Remember Johnny Hail and his stupid puppet, the weather dragon?" Kelly said. Seems like that may be a nod to KDKA freelancer Dennis Bowman and his dummy, Chester Drawers, pictured here.

Later the station manager complained that Montana is a problem because she "can't pronounce the name of the river that flooded this week," a nice reference back to an earlier episode that featured Montana stumbling over "Monongahela."

Another moment that meshed well with Pittsburgh reality saw Chuck defending the station's ratings, saying, "We're No. 2 in women 54-to-80."

"Yes, you have them on the edge of their shower chairs," the station manager said.

I enjoyed the episode. It was hilarious when Chuck fell back on the sofa and couldn't get up, lol. He's just so funny. It was sad seeing Montana being let go. I have no clue what their reasoning is for this, as I think she was a fun female cast member. Is the witch-on-wheels bosslady permanent? She was funny in how she could go in and out of niceness and meanness in a split second.

Good question, perhaps in the second season...if there is a second season, she may be added. I am not 100% sure though.

Great show last night! I got to tell the truth I enjoy the workplace dynamics more. I'm glad the whole Gracie secret was resolved and hope they can focus more on the newsroom in the secod season?????. The new station manager was a bit over the top at times but she sure made me laugh and she blended very well with Patty and Kelsey...good chemistry there.

Maybe Montana could come back for a guest appearance in a future show with a more successful career than she would have had if she had stayed at WURG (even Debbie Matenopoulos guested on "The View" after she was let go). I will miss Montana. As for the new boss, she was hilarious. She reminded me so much of my boss. I was telling everyone at work about it. Hopefully I've turned some of them onto the show. From what I saw from the previous two episodes, I like the new Gracie, even though there was nothing wrong with the first Gracie. I liked her as well. The first Gracie seemed to have more of Chuck's traits and the new Gracie seems to have more of Kelly's.

I was thinking the same thing while watching this episode. Ayda Field without a doubt knew she was being thrown off the show, and now she has to do an episode where her character is also thrown off the show. That must suck for an actor.

THis was another solid episode. I think overall, I enjoy the newsroom episodes better. It was sad seeing Ayda Field on the show for the last time. She did a great job in this episode, and it was almost sad knowing that this was it for her on Back to You. A huge mistake by FOX.

I loved the new boss, to an extent. If she does stay in the show, recurring or otherwise, which is a strong possibility, she could add a lot of laughs. Just seeing her go through her "phases" of happy to sad in every episode would just crack me up. Chuck and Kelly were great in this episode. I loved how Kelly really wanted to help Montana, but Chuck (in the beginning) could really care less. I also loved Chuck's line "We're number 2 in women ages 54-80." That was hysterical!

That last scene in the episode last night kind of said it all. Remember when Chuck said to Kelly in the end: There was a time when I would say - My name is Chuck Darling and that kid stays! We're not the bosses around here anymore!
Kind of my name is Kelsey Grammer and Ayda Field stays. But the ratings aren't that great, and although we're all big names we have to do what the network says.
