I'll say 48 hours, back in my 20s. Was I ever a party girl, lol.

When I was 24, I missed two nights of sleep, straight, finishing a piece of work. -- 60 hours, I guess.

47 hours last May.

I actually got so tired that I couldn't go to sleep for a few hours afterwards. It was strange.

39 hours, nearly two months ago. I actually had been awake for 28 1/2 hours a few days prior to that. God, that sucked.

30 Hours, a few years ago. Nowadays I usually clock out somewhere in the 15-18 range, with 22 pretty much being my max.

72 hours. Two years ago when my dad was rushed into emergency surgery and things got really bad afterwards (((he's healthy and fine now thank God)))...I was to afraid and much to upset to sleep! Funny thing is I wasn't tired at ALL.

Janice was a party girl? Man, you learn something new everyday. :p

I'm not a party girl myself even though I'm 19 and it's kind of expected, but I still never get much sleep period. It takes me forever to fall asleep and then I have to get up early for class anyway. I'm pretty sick of that not being able to fall asleep and toss and turn for hours thing but what can you do? Plus it's college, who the hell sleeps anymore...I will however say I've never gone a whole day without it. On new year's eve my friends and I all stayed up until 5 in the morning the next day and I must've gotten up pretty early the day before, so that has to be one of the longest times I've gone without sleep.

Roughly 72 hours when I was in the Navy. Somebody threw themself overboard and we spent the majority of that time looking for the individual. We never did find him.

Well, for me, I think I can do 20 hours max.

I think I remember going 30 hours a few years ago.

One time I was working 2 jobs, I worked 2PM-10PM at one job, went to my second job, worked 11PM to 6AM, then went back to my other job and was scheduled to work 8AM to 4PM. Needless to say, I was 'dying' by 2PM. My boss let me go home. Working 2 jobs sucks!!

probably 48 hours. it's usually during papers/finals week.
last year, one night after doing a paper & not sleeping well at all (i used to work at 4.30 am last year, so i barely slept as it was) my friend calls me & my best friend around 11. said he had been in a motorcycle accident and was in the emergency room. he made it seem like he had broken his neck or something horrible. so, we show up to the emergency room & sat in there for four years. it took FOREVER to call him in and take an x-ray and look at him. thankfully, he had only sprained his wrist. by the time we left, i had to work an hour or so later and didn't fall asleep because i was afraid i wouldn't be able to wake up on time. that sucked a lot.

Over the years the various jobs I've had have foreced me to pull allnighters - back in my theater tech days working the last 24-36 hours before a show opened was pretty much standard practice.

I drank a lot of caffeine back then.

It was, the Navy was a hard job, especially if you had loved ones waiting for you at home. Cruises are generally up to 6 months at a clip.

Is it true what they say about sailors having a girls in every port? I'm half kidding, but are the stops wild for the ones who want to have fun? By the way, I LOVE your avatar and message. :)

Absolutely, I guess there is something about a sailor uniform that is like cat nip. I had a total blast overseas, even though towards the end it was very grueling.

Thank you about the avatar...I am awaiting the news, very patiently I might add. ;)

I've never been the kind of girl who gets excited by a uniform. BUT I have a true weakness for artists and musicians...I have a secret crush on the lead guitarist/singer in my church's contemporary Praise Band.

You were single then, so I can only imagine. We've seen your picture. Hunka hunka burning love. So, did you ever have a blast, lol, with the same girl, like months apart? How long was shore leave? Is that what it's called? So, a fistful of dollars, a healthy appetite for food, wine, women and song, lol. Let's hear it. Only if you don't mind. You know I mean no disrepect to your wife, so you can tell me to MYOB if you want.

I was single back then...young and single. (What a combo huh?)

I had flings with various women overseas. (Safely, I might add) There was one girl I met in Anzio, Italy who was simply radiant. We really hit it off and for the next 3 days, we kept the windows of her apartment steamed. LOL She wrote me letters in Italian, but I never understood them, nor did I care to get them translated. I was young and stupid.

I even had dinner over her parents home with a couple of my Navy friends. Her mother was a stunning beauty as well, blonde and blue eyed. The mom was from up north in Trieste, Italy. She was one heck of a cook too.

He's 50 (but doesn't look it), I'm 28 1/2, he has a daughter who is a year older than me, and he currently has a girlfriend. :( So I'm keeping my mouth shut and my eyes averted whenever possible. If anything changes, I'll let you know.

Wow, I'll bet you had a blast! Glad you were safe. I'd hate to think of any offspring in other countries. I'll bet her Mom could cook, being Italian. If you still have the letters, send them to me, and Lou can take a stab at translating them since he's learning Italian. He'll end up chasing me around, after reading them.

I am having flashbacks of the episodes in Italy on Everybody Loves Raymond.

I have gone without sleep for nearly 36 hours. I was working nights then. I worked my evening shift and then I had to go home to get my then husband off to his job which was 6 hour round trip drive. I got home exhausted but soon received a phone call that my dad was in the hospital. I rushed to meet my sister in the hospital and dealt with that for two days. I couldn't sleep because I was so worried abt my dad.

A little over forty-eight hours. I was flying back from Istanbul and stayed up because my flight left early in the morning. I couldn't sleep on the plane, so I stayed awake. I was exhausted by the time I finally got home!!! :sleep2:

About 36 hours--happened twice--not a real good idea.

Once was in Newark airport, NJ. It was over Thanksgiving vacation about five years ago. All connecting flights through Chicago were cancelled due to snow and my connection back to California was disrupted. I had to fly out the next day. I didn't go to a hotel, because I was trying to get on any flight out of there. It was miserable! I felt like I was in the Twilight Zone or something.

Another time was in Minnesota when I was in the National Guard in the 1980's. Our unit went there for winter training in February. After having been up for already I don't know how many hours, I then pulled all-night duty in the tactical operations center. I had on a lined parka, but I couldn't get warm. There was nowhere to lay down. Generators were running, the floor was a metal ramp of a tracked vehicle. I tried sitting in a folding chair to get a cat nap, but that didn't work. So I was up about 36 hours altogether. Then when they brought us back in trucks to get food, the mess hall ran out of food! It totally sucked. No food. No sleep. But I finally got both, thank goodness.

There's nothing worse than going without sleep.

When I was in my late teens, being a party animal, I would get by on 3-4 hours of sleep a night (but boy, was I tired). One day at work, ( I was a waitress at the time) I was really dragging, and I hallucinated and saw the marching hammers from Pink Floyd's "The Wall"! Freaked me out; I went to bed early that night!
