No, I have not turned against Miley. On the contrary. I'm wondering why this was allowed to happen to her. She's only 15, and needs guidance from those entrusted to protect her, starting with her parents. I don't understand why her parents and her agent/manager thought this would be a good idea. She's a Disney star, and the suits there certainly don't like this. She's on a hot show, so there's an audience out there who thinks she's talented.

I guess it's harder for me to be easier on her because I'm close to her age and I see people act the way she did in those pics and they typically tend to be pretty immature. People on myspace and facebook are always making stupid pictures and it's like Gooodd get over yourself. You guys are right, though, that we don't know her but I'm just going by what I see. Yeah, sometimes I don't think people hate Miley Cyrus personally so much as the fact that she appears to be a prefab artist who basically didn't go the route of thousands of other performers who tough it out for years playing the clubs with the full knowledge of success never being certain. She had her (once-)famous daddy who had a big hit fifteen years ago and the fact that she was put out there by Disney that was responsible for her success and her resulting hype. She had CONNECTIONS, in other words. As for her net worth being able to fuel a small European country, it seems strange to many of us that she became a gazillionaire in so short of time. Most teen performers don't have that kind of power, so it seems strange that she's been able to make all this money based based on her talent and image alone. It's all about hype and marketing. She's cute and wholesome, two things which have been played to the hilt, but now it's leading to her downfall. Ten years ago, we expected the same with Britney, but in the past several years, that fizzled out and she's now dealing with the backlash for not living up to our expectations. So now the hyped wholesomeness of Miley is rising up to bite her on the Old Navys. She makes an ill-informed decision at a rather young age to do something that affects her career and image, and then everyone thinks she's the most evil, corrupting person since Hitler, Stalin, and Blackie Lawless. She's a "good girl" who FAILED. Sinner!!! Let's brand her with a scarlet letter arm patch which has a "B" for 'Braless'. Even better yet, why don't we just burn her at the stake. I thought the goodness of a good person was supposed to bring out the goodness in us. Now it's all a weapon used against her.

i'd rather have a normal life than one in which i had no spare time and couldn't leave my house without paparazzi all over my ass and fans harassing me for an autograph, no matter how much money i made. i have social anxiety disorder, i hate being with people, and i get really upset and annoyed whenever i'm just approached and talked to by someone i don't know. i wouldn't be able to handle all the criticism and nosy rumors either (happens to every big celebrity). i'm not as good with stress as most people seem to be, and i'd be so overwhelmed by the fame that i'd get deeply depressed and probably kill myself, likely leaving a hateful note to the public saying they should mind their own business. the only thing she does that i enjoy is singing and i'm fine just doing that in my college choir with some occasional solo performances. sorry but there are such things as people who are shy and introverted. not everyone is the same.

HM seems geared more towards a pre-teen crowd. Unless you fall in that age bracket I don't get why her face and what she does should bother you guys. The little girls I know who love her are around 7-8 years old. Those girls could care less abt her ability or inability to sing, they don't care abt her magazine layout since they are not of age to even want to buy that magazine. All they care abt is getting her merchandise and watching HM. They are also not spoiled, rich little girls either. They are merely little girls who love HM and the show.

I go into stores and I see HM merchandise everywhere but I also see other celebs merchandise too. I remember when it was New Kids on The Block, then it was NSYNC and Backstreet Boys. These are gimmicks and the tools of merchandising. I agree it can be over the top at times but it is not annoying. I can walk into a store and see Cinderella blankets, pillows, dolls, clothes, pajamas, etc. but I don't see anyone saying I hate Cinderella. :lol:

I go into stores and I see HM merchandise everywhere but I also see other celebs merchandise too. I remember when it was New Kids on The Block, then it was NSYNC and Backstreet Boys. These are gimmicks and the tools of merchandising. I agree it can be over the top at times but it is not annoying. I can walk into a store and see Cinderella blankets, pillows, dolls, clothes, pajamas, etc. but I don't see anyone saying I hate Cinderella. :lol:

Exactly. We will always see overexposure of a celebrity or a cartoon. We see with Cinderella, I see it with Nemo and other cartoons such as Spongebob and Elmo. I take it all in stride. As for celebs we see it with the boy bands and we see it with other celebs that are "hot" for the moment. HM will eventually fade and Miley will become an adult. It can be annoying to see how the marketing is for such hot commodities but I don't see how that is Miley's fault. She doesn't really have a say so in that. I think her parents do and her business manager.

Not necessarily, there's so many actors and singers out there who have absolutely no talent whatsoever and are famous for reasons I'll never understand.

I'm pretty sure there were actors/musicians/whatevers out there from the silent film era up until, oh, the 90s, who had little discernable talent, but it just seems so more prevalent now.

Rock music has never relied heavily on strong vocal talent, so whether a person can sing or not there has never really been an issue. But Miley isn't singing that kind of rock. What's she's singing needs more than just one cord you can kind of sing on key.

i'd rather have a normal life than one in which i had no spare time and couldn't leave my house without paparazzi all over my ass and fans harassing me for an autograph, no matter how much money i made.

I was curious, so I checked out youtube, and I gotta say that I think she's talented. I wouldn't run out and buy her music, but I can see why the younger crowd likes her. It's hard to believe that she's only 15. I think she's an absolute knockout too. When she's 20, she'll be breathtaking.

Miley may not be an opera singer or Mariah Carey, but she can sing. I'd like to hear some girls her age belt out a tune the way she does. With all the bad behavior that many female celebrities have shown in the past two years, it is a breath of fresh air to see someone who appears to be wholesome, a believer in God, isn't out partying or pregnant like someone's little sister. I hope Miley continues the path she is on. I admit the magazine layout and the stupid pic of her showing her bra was terrible. I blame her parents for the layout and I blame Miley for that bra spectacle. In this day and age of internet and pics being leaked, someone should have told her what can happen. Hopefully she learned from that mistake and moves on.
