Oddly last night while going through my archives I found the once aired CBS News Lucille Ball Death Special which aired the evening of her death April 26, 1989.....of course this Saturday will mark the 19th anniversary of her death.

That was a very well done special, anchored by Dan Rather and Mike Wallace also interviewing former President Reagan at one point. They showed the usual classic clips and even CBS chairman and founder William Paily eulogized Lucy. I really liked this special. That night's ET, which was totally about her also was very very good. As was the Bob Hope clip special, Bob Hope's Love Affair with Lucy which ran a little while after that. I have all of them and i think all three were excellent.

I agree. They did this very well. I bought the special when I visited Jamestown several years back. Its hard to believe that our Lucy has been gone 19 yrs.!

I know! Can you believe it, two decades flew by just like that. The best part for me was watching Dan Rather laugh at her antics, when he did the news the night she died, it was the same thing, all three network anchors had grown up with her and were very familiar with all her best clips. Even John Tesh, then on ET, said watching her best clips always gave him a tummy ache, and he added that he could not get over the entire crew laughing as they showed the clips on air.

I have this (thanks to one of my bestest friends). It's a really good special. That's nice of you to post the link so people can see it who haven't.
