What makes me mad. What makes me mad is the dad dies thats the most shocking of the whole finale. Wreckless 04-25-2008, 02:15 AM ^ There was supposed to be another season, where Kevin goes through senior year of HS, and he graduates, the day he graduates, he comes home to Jack sprawled dead on the floor from a heart attack after such a good event in Kevin's graduation. Ppl said, oh it was ratings, **** that, Dan Lauria was right, they just didnt renew. MrRetro_08 04-25-2008, 04:39 PM I was happy with the way it ended wonderaboutlife 04-27-2008, 08:50 AM I agree however the reason they did that was to show us life never works out the way you think it will be. You're right but if you want to know something really weird:crazy: I have a aunt and uncle who were friends since they were babies.Everything that happened on The Wonder Years happened to them in real life except for one thing they went to the same colledge and two years after they graduated from colledge they got married. They were each others high school sweetheart and first love. They have ten kids and now they have grandkids. They are still happely married.I promise you I would not lie about this.My uncles name is Kevin Arnold and my aunts name is Gwendolyn (she goes by Winnie) and her maiden last name is Cooper.I would not lie about that either. Wreckless 04-27-2008, 08:02 PM It was a typical ending of how things were supposed to roll on in TWY, kevin growing immature with age.. wonderaboutlife 05-04-2008, 08:02 PM Some boys do grow more immature with age. Wreckless 05-06-2008, 04:13 PM ^ yeah i know, but kevin let his immaturity get the best of him. he would get mad when winny had a boyfriend or was kissing somebody like in the show's finale, yet Winnie did that the whole show. In the early seasons, she dated kurt mckrey or however you spell his last name, she went guy to guy, not in a slutty way, but to explore with love, but still had something special for kevin. in those earlier episodes, the younger kevin either ignored her, tried to make her jealous or talked to paul about it and ended up venturing off in something else with his life. in the later years, he became obsessed, he was letting Winnie win the battle, especially when he met Cara and he went back to visit her that summer, yet still was dating Winnie. I know the purpose of that trip but why? I still liked that the plots were good in the second to last season, but the last season was almost horrible! For example, one episode which is probably the only ep. of TWY i truely hate beginning to end, is when the rolling stones are supposed to come into town, but never do. That's the whole plot? They go to see TRS and that's it, it's a boring, no life to it episode in my mind. Along with the second to last episode i believe, where the Arnolds visit Norma's parents. This episode is strange to me in many ways. It's hard to explain why this episode seems out of context but her parents are odd to begin with, especially the mother/grandmother, who takes a disliking to Jack. the only thing i agree with in this episode is the fact that most maternal grandmothers hate/take a disliking to their daughter's final choice at marriage, when they usually pick out another man for the woman. Also I got tired of Chuck and Jeff I think his name was. I liked Kevin's old friends alot better. Paul, Craig Hobson, Doug Porter, even annoying Becky Slater, compared to Jeff, Chuck, Alice and his highschool friends. Chuck got annoying, he had girl problems and it kept rubbing off on Kevin, especially the one where Alice has a crush on Kevin, after problems with Chuck. The earlier episodes showed better events going on with the Arnolds, better plots; the last season just seemed not only out of place, but non-existent and not very good to me. It's not that i'm not WY fan, when I'm a huge fan, just the last season I didn't take a liking too. Ppl said, oh it was ratings, **** that, Dan Lauria was right, they just didnt renew. Wreckless, were they really going to have Jack dead on the floor in the finale had they renewed for the 1993-94 season? I thought that Jack died two, not one, years after it was announced in the de facto finale. The strangest thing is, I have no clue why that season was never made, not because of ratings that's for sure. TWY was one of the highest rated shows, even at the end of their run, and if no one believes me, I'll send you or provide you with a link to a Dan Lauria interview recently where he discussed these bad ratings rumours and put them to rest. No Character was ready to go on big roles in movies or other TV Shows like Ron Howard and Will Smith in past and future acting, so it was a unknown end to the show. Anyway, Kevin was supposed to finish high school and graduate the following season, to come home to find Jack dead on the kitchen floor. Anyway, Kevin was supposed to finish high school and graduate the following season, to come home to find Jack dead on the kitchen floor. I find that very hard to believe and very uncharacteristic for the wholesome series. Hey, ABC: It's The Wonder Years, for crying out loud! Even though it's been stated earlier that Jack would die from a heart attack, the thought of discovering his father on the kitchen floor made me take the idea of murder into account. Mikado 05-17-2008, 10:34 PM ^^^^ |
