View Full Version : TV SERIES FINALES THAT HAD HAPPY/SAD ENDINGS
jasonbigley 04-23-2008, 05:44 PM Sabrina The Teenage Witch- Sabrina and Harvey finally got together and they rode off into the sunset.
Family Matters- Laura and Steve finally got with each other.
Mama's Family- Naomi had Tiffany-Thelma Harper. Thelma got her final wish: Vint and Naomi finally moved out.
SAD FINALES:
____________________
Roseanne- We learn Dan actually died from his heart attack.
Mary Tyler Moore- The staff all being fired from the office and they all have their famous group hug at the end. Then Mary turns the lights out.
Three's Company- When Teri, Janet, and Jack leave the apartment and Teri is the last one to leave, turning off the lights. The apartment goes dark forever.
The Wonder Years- We learn that Jack Arnold died. Kevin does not end up with Winnie.
Night Court- The whole crew quitting the court room. Mac quits to pursue studies in directing. Christine quits to move to washington along with Dan quitting to follow her. Bull leaves by being abducted by aliens. Roz and Harry are the only ones that stay.
vtunie 04-23-2008, 06:12 PM TC is actually the saddest ending to a series I've ever seen (though it is amazingly well done).
Bittersweet: M*A*S*H
Happy: Seinfeld
USATVFAN 04-23-2008, 06:15 PM Saddest: Three's Company And Friends
Furienna 04-23-2008, 06:48 PM Family Matters- Laura and Steve finally got with each other.
Actually, since I never thought they were right for each other (Myra, anyone?), I don't think that one was a happy ending, but rather an annoying ending.
Alternativ 04-24-2008, 12:54 AM Roseanne's ending was so sad :(
dawsongirl 04-24-2008, 01:42 AM The ending was in a made-for movie, but the end of The Incredible Hulk sucked. After all that running and trying to find a cure...David falls out of a plane and dies. It was sad and I hated it.
Mr. Television 04-24-2008, 02:19 AM The ending was in a made-for movie, but the end of The Incredible Hulk sucked. After all that running and trying to find a cure...David falls out of a plane and dies. It was sad and I hated it.
I actually heard that they were supposed to do another movie where he came back but then Bill Bixby got sick so that ended all that.
treky 04-24-2008, 02:19 AM how's 'bout the finale of "BARNEY MILLER"? Where they all leave the squad room for the last time, Barney's the last one to leave, he pauses at the door, turns and looks around, thinks about the others (and they show clips) then he turns out the light and closes the door.
comedyfreak 04-24-2008, 05:31 AM The Happy Days finale was good with the Wedding of Joanie and Chachi, as well as That 70's Show with Eric and Donna getting back together.
ryan423 04-24-2008, 01:38 PM I hated the Everybody Loves Raymond finale. You would think they could've done better. On the season 9 dvd set, Ray mentions in the commentary that the original series finale was going to be what was the season premiere that year when Marie and Frank move out and then get kicked out of the condo. What ended up being the finale was originally the premiere that year! I think the original plan would've made the ending better!
ryan423 04-24-2008, 01:38 PM King Of Queens also had a terrible ending!
Rosslover 04-24-2008, 03:14 PM it ended with a birth and a new beginning for two lovers...but it was one of the best finales of recent history. FRIENDS
the W and G finale was fun to watch but was vague.....
best finale of all time MASH
LeeBlue 04-24-2008, 03:35 PM I liked the finale for The Odd Couple -- it was funny and well done -- Felix finally wins his ex-wife Gloria back -- Oscar gets his apartment to himself again.
treky 04-24-2008, 03:37 PM another good one was "THE FUGITIVE" with Richard Kimble finnaly becoming freed.
And, I think the worst one was "MASH".
dawsongirl 04-24-2008, 09:57 PM I actually heard that they were supposed to do another movie where he came back but then Bill Bixby got sick so that ended all that.
Yeah...I wish that could have been made. If for no other reason than to see what they had in mind.
But that's why there's fan fiction. I have my own ideas.
AYBS_Wiz 04-25-2008, 11:49 AM Sad: M*A*S*H, Three's Company, Friends, Will & Grace
Happy: Everybody Love's Raymond, That 70's Show

The Fugitive - Kimball finally becomes a free man
Malcolm in the Middle - Reese and Malcolm got jobs in college, Francis and Piyama gotten a whole different job, and some other good stuff.
Good Times - Thelma and Keith get a new partment, Kieth gets his job for the Chicago Bears, Thelma has a child, J.J. gets to bring his art business out, Florida andf Wilona move out of the projects.
repeatshistory 04-25-2008, 03:22 PM SportsNight is bittersweet. Storyline-wise, it's a VERY hopeful episode. Which makes it that much more ironic that it is the last. Their channel gets bought by a white-knight investor, who LOVES their show. Wish the same could have been said of ABC....
andress_jade 04-30-2008, 10:53 PM The last episode of The Golden Girls was really good but so sad. I can't watch it without crying.:crying: The girls were really crying in those scenes. It was a great ending to a great show. :)
