if so, did you get the e-mail stating that as of June 2008, you will no longer be able to use Hotmail in the old e-mail client, unless you update to this new client?

I thought they had turned that feature off a long time ago O_O. Maybe they just dropped it from newer e-mail client releases. The idea was to encourage customers to purchase a "Hotmail Plus" subscription (costs $) to be able to receive your Hotmail email through a client e-mail program. I haven't heard about that e-mail, but it sounds like in June they will turn off support for Outlook Express.

Anyway, I used to. Outlook 2007 is my choice currently.

It should be noted that Outlook Express is deprecated software and will not be updated again. It's successor was Windows Mail (Vista only) which is only somewhat more updated than OE6. Windows Mail itself has been dropped from future development in favor of Microsoft's new free Windows Live Mail program, which is its current (and future) "free" e-mail client. Windows Live Mail is a nice application, tbh. You might want to give it a try. Alternatively, Mozilla Thunderbid is also a nice application and is greatly extendable. Another option (& very lightweight, great for older systems) is Pegasus Mail.

I second the recommendation of Thunderbird. It's really great. As for Hotmail, I don't use it, but I know there's a way to read it in Outlook with Freepops. You can find it on Google.

Hope that helps!

Using Windows Live Mail now--just looks like a jazzier Outlook Express!
I know about Thunderbird, but for some reason, i just never could get used to it. Not saying I won't try it again in the future :)
