If you watched Soap on a regular basis, you've probably noticed that each of the main characters (Jessica, Chester, Burt and Mary) has at least one extra marital affair. Anybody think the show went overboard on extra marital affairs.? My thinking is yes, since it was a pretty common soap opera plot.

I don't think it did afterall, it was a satire. I liked it the way it was.

It was supposed to be a parody of soaps, so I don't think so. If I had been Jessica, I would've dumped Chester for El Puerco in a second!! :eyes:

Do you follow real soap operas? Those people cheat like it's an art form. I didn't follow this show too closely, but I would bet that Chester had fewer affairs than some of the characters in the shows that this series was making fun off.

Of course not. Real soap operas dramatize things and since Soap was making fun of soap operas they're point was probably to go off the deep end.

Exactly. It was a satire on it. And strangely enough from what I was told. Real Soap Operas at the time started writing implausible situations in the vein of Soap.
