I think they would have finally married Florence off. George would have considered retirement and selling his stores and Weezy would have gotten involved in more let's meet famous people and act wacky around them :lol:

George and Louise decide to move to Los Angeles to expand Jefferson Cleaners.

Florence would come and visit them and then eventuallu come back to work for them.

Lionel would come back to New York. He and Jenny will work through their divorce. Jessica would begin second grade.

Helen would buy the help center.

Tom would open a playhouse and do plays from some of the books from his publishing company.

Mr. Bentley would still be at the U.N. and Ralph would still be a doorman.

Charley and George will still be running the bar.

George and Louise decide to move to Los Angeles to expand Jefferson Cleaners.

Actually, if they moved to California, woudn't it be like "Laverne & Shirley"? Everybody else would have to follow then there. Tom would have to move to a publishing company in LA. Charlie would be the bartender at the bar George went to there. And what a coincidence, Ralph would be the new doorman of the place the Jeffersons moved to!

They would have had a proper final good-bye episode.

Florence was funnier not being in a relationship to me- she did date and men were interested in her- in year 4 there's an ep with Teddy Wilson as George's manager and clearly he was attracted to her- but they never went anywhere with it or showed that character again.

I think Florence was more humorous single. Midway through the show (year 6) she's worried that her biological clock is ticking. Her age was never clearly spelled out, but Marla Gibbs was in her late 40s by the time that show aired (Note that after awhile they stopped talking about her ever having kids). But there are at least 10 episodes all throughout the series about her dating or wanting to date some guy. It seems like at least once a season they did an ep about this. Her being single presents a contrast to the other couples in the series.

Besides, when you think of the fact that she wasn't getting much (if any) love of the physical sort, it compounds the humor of the situation and sheds some light on why she cut George down to size so much- in some ways she was the cause of her situation- various men wanted to date her, but she could be intolerable at times or she picked some dude who was just wrong for her.
And in real life there are many women like Florence- they want to get married but 30, 40, 50 come and they are still single, so she represents that- if anything she and Bentley are the two characters whose basic essence remained unchanged 11 years into the series.
In the first story to focus on her, Florence's Problem, is the one where she was going to kill herself because she felt she had nothing going for her in life. At the end of season 10 in the ep where her neice came to stay, she reflects that after 10 years of working for the Jeffersons her life hasn't really changed or gotten any better- Louise comments for lack of anything else to say that she no longer cracks her knuckles. Florence has gained enough self-confidence to not kill herself, and she has a steady job and a home, some friends, relatives here and there- but no fairytale happy ending- and it seems like 10 years later she was coming to terms with that- which made her an appealing character. I'm glad they never hooked her up with anyone.

But where would Allan Willis be in all this? Can't forget him.

I think the 12th season should have Florence in a serious relationship, maybe have George sell his stores and own the bar downstairs.

I would bring in a new character she just met or bring back someone from a previous apperance on the show.

Oooohhhh boy do I have some things to say on this. :lol: First off, I agree with SO much of what all of you have been saying. I know that had I been in charge of the show, I would have wanted to have some rather serious changes. I couldn't agree more with those of you who said that it is high past time for Florence to have her dreams of a marriage and family come true and be involved in a serious relationship. I know that there are a lot of women out there like Florence who have to come to terms with the fact that they probably aren't going to get married and that in some ways, the Florence character and the Mr. Bentley character send out the right message, that it's okay to be single all your life and that you don't need a spouse to be happy with who you are. But we all know how much being a wife and mother means to Florence and how it's really her dream, and it's pretty hard not to hurt for her sometimes when that dream just never can be realized. I think season 12 would definitely have been the time for that to change...Florence has more than paid her dues. And obviously George and Louise expanding Jefferson Cleaners and moving to California would be in there somewhere thanks to their appearances in the 90s on Fresh Prince. We know that somehere along the way, of course, they do leave New York and live in Bel-Air. And I think that what someone said about all the other things...Lionel and Jenny working through their divorce and raising Jessica, Jessica entering second grade, Helen buying the Help Center and running it herself after Louise leaves is a very clever idea, I think, and of course like some folks have pointed out, some characters never change. I think Bentley and Ralph would remain the same, pretty much, only Bentley would now be annoying the Willises all the time borrowing everything they own instead of the Jeffersons. :lol: And I think it's a clever idea too for Tom to possibly own his own playhouse and have things his publishing company has published be acted out. Although personally I think he's waited throughout practically the entire series to be promoted to president of his company so I think he would want to stay in that a few more years before he considered retirement. He's waited too long for that to give it up so quickly. And I think there would be much more in store for Louise besides annoying more celebrities. :lol: I think being away from her loved ones because of George's drive to expand Jefferson Cleaners and having her move so far away from them causes even more marital tension between them now than there's been in the past and I think that George would still be the same, staying at work until all hours and not giving much of his time and attention to Louise and their marriage and I think it would cause a lot of inner-soul-searching for her. I think it would be a special time for her to really start contemplating who she feels she is in her life now and I think she would start realizing that there is much more to her besides being the wife of a rich husband, that she's her own woman with her own life to live. I would want to see Louise start trying to find herself more and explore the possibility of going to college and getting a degree in something and starting a successful career of her own, although I'd still love to see her doing similar volunteer work to what she did with Helen at the Help Center. I'd even love to see the marital tension between George and Louise rise to the point where they're separated and Louise is having to live on her on for the very first time and face and overcome her doubts and fears and insecurities that would come with that. I think she'd find what a relief it can be to be on her own, making her own money so that George can no longer hound her with the same old, tired, chauvinistic lines, "I'm the man of the house and I earn the money so what I say goes," blah, blah, blah. I guess working her @$$ off alongside him all those years helping him make his dreams come true with Jefferson Cleaners doesn't count, eh George? And I know that George is very funny and that he does have a good heart buried somewhere underneath all of his crap, but let's face it...he was a total jerk to Louise. And like I said, I would love to see Louise discovering what a relief her life can be WITHOUT being disrespected all the time by her husband and becoming her own person. And I hope I don't step on any toes by saying that...that's just my own opinion. I think that somewhere in our minds, we'd all love to see Louise leave George, although I don't think any of us would like to see the Jeffersons' marriage end in divorce. But I'd bust up laughing if Louise left George temporarily like the time when they were separated for about a week because of the chauvinistic commercial George made, you know, the barefoot and pregnant episode. :lol: Anyway, that's what I see the Jeffersons characters doing. I'm sure there'll be plenty of people to tell me how wrong I am, but that's how I see it.

I am thinking something had to have been written, but I am like you it would be interesting to see what was planned.
