since we're halfway through the finals at this point, how do you think the last 4 eliminations will go? and who do you think the final 2 will be? and who will take it ALL?

i say:

6th place: Brooke White. (don't kill me! but i kind of want this to happen. i like her, but her performances are going downhill fast, and apparently she's the new VFTW pick, so i want her to leave with some dignity instead of being remembered as a joke.)

5th place: Syesha Mercado. (umm...i just see this happening. i see her making the top 5 but being out first, just cause she seems to have SOME following, but not enough to compete with the main front-runners. )

4th place: Jason Castro (despite the fact that everyone and their mother wants the 3 remaining guys to be the top 3, i don't think it's going to happen. i see Carly outlasting Jason and making the top 3 while Jason gets 4th.)

3rd place: Carly Smithson (in any other season she'd make the top 2 but TPTB and America are dying for another Ruben/Clay or even Carrie/Bo type showdown this year, aka a David squared finale. so i think Carly will be the last girl standing and place 3rd.)

in a David vs. David finale, i think either could win, so i'm not gonna predict that. but i HOPE....

It's pretty obvious that the final 2 will be David and David. Both are great singers, no surprise. Don't hate me, but I'm actually leaning towards David Cook at this point. I think David Archuletta is a fantastic singer, but I think David Cook has a bit of a lead over him. No matter what happens, though, both will be hugely successful.

i still think David Cook would flop if he won. cause he needs to have "rawk cred" to do well, and winning American Idol does not really equal "rawk cred".

I don't think David Cook would flop. I think David Archuletta would definitely sell more if he won this season. But, I'm guessing it to be like the Ruben/Clay finale of season 2, where almost everyone thought Clay was going to win, but instead Ruben won, and Clay ended up becoming more popular after the show.

i could see that happening, but i think David Cook would be more successful if he didn't even make the finale like Chris Daughtry. but i think that if one of the Davids is eliminated before the finale the show will probably look bad.

Oh man... that would be SO horribly boring. David A vs David C would be, by far, the most intense finale yet. I mean lets recap the other finales... Kelly Clarkson vs Justin Guarini um DUH NO CONTEST at all! Ruben vs Clay was so far the best and most suspenseful finale yet, but still I think there was a very slight bias toward Ruben. Fantasia vs Diana was obvious because the judges acted like Fantasia was the greatest person to ever grace this earth when she obviously WASN'T. Carrie vs Bo was also really predictable too because Carrie was never in the bottom 3 and definitely had a larger fan base than Bo. Same for Taylor and Katharine, even though I think Katharine should have won over Taylor.. it's just obvious that Taylor had more fans. Jordin vs Blake was really obvious too because even though I like blake, Jordin was far more talented.

So in total, the finale has to be David A vs David C. I'm actually pretty upset because I have to go somewhere during the night of the finale...taping it just isn't the same! :lol: But okay, if I had to predict the order I'd say..

LOL, Clive didn't like Bo and that's why he got screwed over. Clive liked Blake Lewis and allowed him to make the album he wanted, even though it didn't sell as well. So I don't know why people are saying Cook shouldn't be in the finale when they don't even consider what happened to Blake could happen to Cook.

I think Daughtry definitely benefited from an early boot because his sound seemed a lot less like an American Idol gimmick, and more like his artistry. When you sing rock, it's really easy to look like a "poser", but he pulls it off.

I think Daughtry definitely benefited from an early boot because his sound seemed a lot less like an American Idol gimmick, and more like his artistry. When you sing rock, it's really easy to look like a "poser", but he pulls it off.
