Has a book ever helped you or someone you know?

I've recommended, and even bought this book for loved ones who were struggling with substance abuse. Famous people briefly tell their own stories of personal struggles. It's called, The Courage To Change.

There's a book called, Men Who Can't Love. How to Recognize a Commitmentphobic Man Before He Breaks Your Heart. This is a fantastic book for any woman who finds herself getting the run-around by a guy.

Two books about suicide helped me out, "Someone I Loved Died by Suicide" by Doreen Cammarata and "Grieving a Suicide: A Loved Ones Search for Comfort, Answers, and Hope" byt Albert Y. Hsu.

I know the first book is for kids and was released in 2001, but I enjoyed it. I really wished that there was a book like this for kids in the 1980's, I've lost my mother when I was ten to suicide and for the next ten years, was totally lost, but books like these helped me out a great deal. For years, I blamed myself and these books told me otherwise.

Even though these are not really self-help books, they provided me with inspiration. First off, is Prozac Nation: Young and Depressed In America by Elizabeth Wurtzel. In the book, Elizabeth talks openly and honsestly about her life-long struggle with depression. As someone who has battled deprsssion on and off for going on ten years now, it was very helpful to me to hear about someone else's dealings with depression.

Two years ago I read Lisa Whelchel's book, The Facts of Life and other Lessons My Father Taught Me, which played a major role in my returning to God and my Catholic faith. Earlier this year I read Valerie Bertenelli's book Losing It: and Gaining My Life Back One Pound At A Time, in which Valerie openly discusses her bouts with depression and how she truned to food to try to make her sadness and the emptiness she was feeling go away. I could certainly relate to this.

I am currently reading a wonderful book called A New Earth: Awakening to Your Life's Purpose by Eckhart Tolle. The book is about self-discovery and finding inner peace. A lady who I work with recommended the book to me and I recommend it too.

A book that was really helpful to me was "Clear Your Clutter With Feng Shui" by Karen Kingston. It really helped me get rid of A LOT of stuff!

I got mine @ Barnes & Noble. It really is a nifty little book. She really gets clutterers down pat.
