It might be. Laura Marano is still listed as Gracie in the official website and there's been no news announcing her departure from the show. My guess is she might have had a schedule conflict due to the strike but who knows really. But, I have to say, in one of the promos for the show they sort of summarize the whole story and when they mention the daughter they show the new actress. I guess we'll have to wait and see!!

Actually the new actress has done two episodes so far. They still have four more to shoot. I wonder what will happen with those???????

Yeah, I saw the promo last night, with the new actress playing Gracie. My guess is the change is permanent. I doubt they'd air a shot with the the new actress if it's just for an episode or 2.

I guess it'll be like the Bewitched incident. Just replace one Darren with a reasonable look alike and hope nobody asks questions. lol

They make these cast changes and then produce a weak episode. Not a good sign.

Marano was excellent. She had could good chemistry with both Grammar and Heaton. I'm trying not to be too judgemental of BTY, since there may have been some reason beyond their control as to why Marano is gone. But the fact that they've offered no explanation for her departure does not help the situation.

In this day an age where info flys everywhere, it's pretty cavalier to make changes of this significance without a word of explanation. Surely they must realize that loyal and intensely involved viewers want to know what's going on. There has already been an emotional investment in the origninal Gracie and Montana by many of the fans of the show.

The cast and producers have long track records of success, so maybe they can still make the show work. But I'm certainly less optimistic about the long term success of the show.

I missed the first 3 minutes, wow, that was fast!

The new actress wasn't anything like the other one. I know we only saw this new one for about three seconds, but I like the other one better.
