We went to Greenwood Cemetery near downtown Clarksville today to look for Frank Sutton's Grave. This is a very large cemetery and it took awhile to find the grave site. He's buried in Section 12 in the Spencer family plot. This section is on a hill and he's buried at the bottom of the hill next to the road. I made a few pictures of it.

Ann, Thanks for the pictures. I live in Nashville, not far from Clarksville as you know. I may try to get up there someday in the near future and check it out myself. I really loved Frank Sutton's charactor as Sgt. carter, he was just so funny. It's really sad he didn't live very long. From what I've heard, he went to East High School, here in Nashville.
The cemetery is located on Greenwood Avenue in an older section of Clarksville. And section 12 is at the very back of the cemetery near the woods. Here's a couple more pictures I made of the confederate monument located in the cemetery. Its near the front entrance.

It's sad that it just states his name DOB and DOD - not loving son or anything else. :(
^ I know, I thought it would have been bigger with more details.

I agree. Frank was such a great actor that he deserved a lot more on his grave. :(

Thanks for posting the pics...
Here's a link to a thread about Frank Sutton...his nephew makes some comments there about him

(Sutton's nephew's comment is the second one from that thread)..
From everything I've heard about Sutton, he was a heck of a nice guy. Humble too. He doesn't seem like the type that would want a big deal made about his death... or to have a fancy headstone to draw attention to himself.
I've said it before on the S.O. boards, but I think that Frank Sutton and Edward Platt ("the Chief" from Get Smart) are probably the two most underrated "second banana" actors ever. They were both flawless in their roles. Just great, great acting.

Yep it's sad that his gravestone only has his name, YOB and YOD. Perhaps that's how he wanted it, but it deserves to say more than just that. God bless Frank Sutton, he gave us five great years as Sgt. Carter. He will be fondly remembered forever by his many fans as their favorite TV sargeant.
