I was more shocked when Melinda was voted off in season 6 (as opposed to JPL).

I was more shocked when Melinda was eliminated in season 6 (as opposed to JPL, not Michael). Michael shouldn't have gone, though. He was far better than, no offense, Jason or Kristy.

JPL wasnt that shocking...he had a big fanbase but he wasnt THAT great. Melinda was shocking...i totally expected her to be in the final 2.

I think this show is fixed. There is NO WAY that Michael should have left before most of those people still left in the competition.

Melinda was shocking. I had my money on her winning last season . . . she was clearly the best season in the entire competiton - you could have saw that in the first couple weeks in the competition.

I sometimes think myself this show is fixed. It's just too hard to believe Michael Johns got less votes than Syesha and Carly. I was definitely thinking Syesha was gone, but when I heard Michael's name called to go home, I seriously jumped up from my seat.

i dont think its rigged...sometimes it seems it, but things like Taylor Hicks winning and all of the "bad" contestants getting so far kind of proves it isn't.

the shocking eliminations are all pretty explainable too, if you think about it. Chris was eliminated because Taylor Hicks' fanbase was freaking UNSTOPPABLE and Elliott did great that night. Kat and Chris were both "meh", and Kat's fanbase was bigger then Chris's, so Chris was booted.

Melinda's is really simple - Melinda, though she had a great voice, was very old-fashioned and didnt connect with the voting audience (teenagers). Blake and Jordin on the other hand, were very current and mainstream, so they beat her out.

as for Michael - his is pretty simple too...he was considered to be a front-runner, despite him being first and giving a performance that was just okay. Syesha and Carly's fans knew they were in danger so they voted extra hard for them whereas Michael's fans probably didnt feel the need to vote as hard since most people predicted him to be safe, so unfortunately, Michael was eliminated.

that being said...TPTB definitely manipulate things and try and get their favorites to go far.

Yeah ditto thats true aboyt Taylor and Melinda and Chris. LOL yeah I thought about that for Micheal too, people assumed he would be safe, he went first, but I actually liked his version of that song, so I didnt expect him to be in the bottom/voted off
